"Official" Word on Deen's Condition

Postby jrnyman28 » Wed Feb 08, 2006 1:39 pm

I hope no one gets confused between Deen and Dean. I am not going to pretend to speak for Dean.

But I just read on BT that Deen did not have a ruptured vocal chord after all. He had the beginning of a Node forming and it has healed.

So I am guessing that Deen will be taking over quite a few songs again in concert.

I thought it was interesting that Deen had this problem arise after Neal's comment that Deen could sing three hours (something to that affect) when Steve was having his problems early last tour. I felt that Neal's comments weren't aimed at Steve as much as they were a result of his enthusiasm about Deen's talent. Thought it was interesting that Deen proved his statement to be wrong however.
If we're back to a 90 min, co-headline show, I hope this will not be the case, one song, if that, would be all the room there is for Deen. I will be shocked if Jon doesn't sing his, regardless of time constraints.

I found it odd that Neal would say this about Deen only a few days after the NYC shows where Deen was obviously better.

He sang Patiently, Still They Ride, the first verse of Escape, some of Feeling That Way and some of Anytime.

The interview date was 11/25, the shows were 11/22 and 11/23.
Unless it was recorded earlier and aired on the 25th.

The KPOI interview was recorded much earlier.
