THIS is what I am trying to say.

He can't do the job anymore. Get it people? Guy has lost his voice. Get over it. Brink back Perry, kiss and make up, cash in, say goodbye, and ride off into the great world of retirement.

And BigJ told you what we're trying to say:

Actually, 28 said what I know.

Okay...once and for all...

What is your proof that Augeri has lost it? You've been hinting at something. What is it already?

Is it the handful of cancelled shows recently?
Was it the struggles of a very demanding Generations tour?
A combination?

I'd like to think I've seen or heard about whatever recent developments you have (if I haven't fill me in). It's a hell of a jump to say all of a sudden the guy's lost his voice. There's simply no evidence that's the case. Unless you know something that you're not sharing.

In the meantime, a Perry return, if Augeri has "lost it," would be a move from bad to worse. Steve Perry is finished as a singer. Very unfortunate, but he hasn't done jack save for a couple tracks since TBF. That was 10 years ago. His voice is beyond gone, and judging by the lack of material (and the quality of what little there was), his inspiration went with it.

This is not to bash Perry. But the guy's nearing 60, and has been out of any real continuous singing regimen for 20 years now.

Me, hinting? Come on dude. I know nothing. Ask Irving.

Is it the handful of cancelled shows recently?

Part of it.

Trust me, Generation tour was easy.

There's a reason.

In the meantime, a Perry return, if Augeri has "lost it," would be a move from bad to worse.

So you are admitting it's "bad" now? And how do we really know how Perry is?

Steve Perry is finished as a singer.

Once a singer, always a singer. Perry took care of himself for the most part. I am willing to think he could sing still, but he is a perfectionist, and he is the only one saying no to this.

This is not to bash Perry. But the guy's nearing 60, and has been out of any real continuous singing regimen for 20 years now.

Hell, Steven Tyler is 58. Bruce is 58. Mick is 109. What's the point? Perry can sing.

My mistake in "admitting it's bad now" - I actually don't think it's bad now.

So, are you saying that there is something you know that most don't about Augeri's condition? A little secret you're hiding?

Why hide it? Hell the worst that could happen is the loons would love you for outing the symbol of their raging hatred. Women showing up at your door with free pie is never bad, no matter how physically tousled they are.

Yes, Perry can still sing. I imagine. How the hell would we possibly know?

The problem is, a live version of Perry in the TBF era would have been disappointing to the general public. It's 10 years later. And yeah, Tyler, Jagger et al can still go, but the bar they set for themselves is NOTHING compared to what Perry has to live up to.

I've got a new idea. Don't know how Schon/Cain and company would feel about it, so I'll say here and now that I'm only kidding, even though I am an evil PR guy in the (kinda) world of entertainment.

Hire our buddy Jeremy as the new lead singer.

Launch a HUGE promotion using live clips of him performing with the guys. Never say anyone's actual name. Never.

He looks kinda enough like Perry, if you squint, that if Jeremy loses the wig he's been using and just goes with the hair he's got, not saying anything, people may just think it's Perry.

Use a catchphrase that suggests Perry's returned. THE POWER IS BACK.

Go on tour, play all the hits, cash in, and when the shit hits the fan, deny ever having implied anyone was Steve Perry. You've got the ads and everything to prove it. Record every live show...everything. Nobody EVER said it was Steve.

And hell, by then, there's always a chance people will embrace Jeremy. And if not, controversy sells and he'll make his money.

So Jeremy...you in?

I have never heard it called a bug spaceship, and I think I'll call it that from now on.

Kinda like how Boston is an organ or guitar spaceship.

Ya know, Journey should have done something similar from the start with Steve. The first thing they should have done was release a video for "Remember Me" without the band appearing in it. That way, the focus would be the song and the Journey name. Of course Sony blew that from the start by all but removing the song from the movie. but having Journey's name on the soundtrack sure helped move a few more units...

It's the reason I bought the CD, sure as hell wasn't for Chicago/er I mean used to be Aerosmith. No, I still love 'Smith but they really lost my respect with that song. The other one "What Kind Of Love Are You On" was decent I guess. But "Remember Me" is a fantastic song.

Sony was more concerned with Greatest Hits Live and Greatest Hits + 5 or whatever the hell.

Trust me...People won't mistake me for Perry!! It's always been a dream of mine to sing WITH Journey but I would never want to sing FOR Journey, if you get the difference there. BTW...Haven't worn the 'ol hairpiece since 2003....Funny story behind that....Anyway, thanks for the plug!
