Journey comments on T.V.

Postby stacy.26 » Sun Apr 02, 2006 11:24 pm

I recently saw and old "Blind Date" episode. It is a show where they put two people on a blind date and film them. The funny thing is that they put thought bubbles above there heads with sarcastic remarks LOL.

On this show, the couple went to a Journey concert. The thought bubble above one of their heads was "Hey, that is not Steve Perry".

Priceless  .

On an episode of Gilmore girls, Loralies and Luke were considering going to an REO/Styx/Journey concert. Luke said "REO and Styx are alright, but Journey freaks me out". I laughed, of course.

I love Journey - Departure is my favorite album of any band. But I thought these shots were hilarious.

However, Don't Stop Belivin' was huge on the O.C. (was that it?). Once again, goes to show that Journey with Perry = cool. Journey with Augeri = lame... At least in the view of the masses.

That came out years ago. You're just seeing it recently?

You're deliberately omitting the end part of the episode where the buble above a shot of Augeri singing reads "eat your heart out, Steve Perry".
Interesting that you would choose to only include the bubbles that have a negative bent to them.

I don't get it. :?

"The O.C." represents the people at large?
LOL.
You want to know what represents "the masses".
The thousands of working class folk who part with their hard earned money year after year to keep seeing this band (including me).
That's the vox populi, that's the referendum of the people.
Not some trendily-dressed teen asswipes.

And the "Gilmore Girls" bit is making fun of Journey, in general.
How is that pointed at Augeri in any way?

My 'Loon detector is going shitwire from bleeping so fast.

I didn't see the last thought bubble referring to Perry. I was cooking dinner at the time and looked in the living room quickly while stirring a hot pot. So, cut the "deliberately" crap.

Funny, you had no idea about that, did you?

Loon? Not hardly. I know Perry was an egotistical jerk who thought he could walk on water. I know he is the reason Journey went downhill. I know he made the other members sign "hush" deals to get the 2001 dvd released.

I also know that he is A key to the success they had. Take him out of the mix, and all you have is Schon, Cain, Vallory, and "the 2 new guys". Even after all these years.

Say what you will, but I don't believe you.
At this point it's too late for me to believe that you have any intentions being here aside from character assasinating Steve Augeri.
Again, that Blind Date thing aired like 5 years ago.
You're just seeing it now for the first time?

Yeah not much writing chemistry coming out of this incarnation of the band. Pity.
