Fantasy All Star Band

Ok, with baseball starting Sunday, and all the fantasy dorks out there picking their dream teams, I would like to know who your fantasy band would be.

Here are the guidelines.

You can pick a band from 3 to 10 members.

You must have a drummer, bass player, and guitarist...minimum.

You can also have a lead singer only, a keyboardist, a piano player, a percussionist and a sax player if you like. You can also add on 2 extra guitar players to fill out to ten.

I am curious to see what people will come up with.

You also get to pick a manager. Say maybe Herbie, Grandpa, TNC, whomever.

Name your band too.

Let's see what happens.

Can it be a band that already exists/did exist?
Schon, Mendoza, Donati
These guys are the best I've seen on their respective instruments.

I will stay away from Journey members, since they are too obvious.

VOCALS: Randy Jackson (Zebra) or Lenny Wolf (Kingdom Come)
GUITAR: Aldo Nova
GUITAR: Randy Jackson (Zebra)
BASS: Michael Anthony
DRUMS: Neil Peart
KEYBOARDS: Gregg Giuffria

Now this is a hard one…I think all of us could come up with loads of combinations between awesome musicians, but I thought it`s not enough to put together just the names.
I stopped at something that would really work. And I mean the members would need to have that “chemistry”,just like Journey had.
So…my fantasy would be to see these guys playing together anything from AOR to Hard Rock:

Drums: Deen Castronovo (Journey)
Keyboards: Don Airey (ex-Deep Purple,Whitesnake)
Bass: Billy Sheehan ( ex- Mr.Big)
Guitar 1: John Petrucci ( Dream Theater)
Guitar 2: Paul Gilbert ( ex- Mr.Big)
Lead singer: Paul Rodgers (Queen)

The one who should call them and get them together would be John Kalodner.
I`d definitely put Herbie Herbert in this story because 1) he has a cosmic managerial IQ,2) he already worked with the guys from Mr.Big,3)he is alive. Honestly,if Bill Graham was alive or Led Zep`s Peter Grant…or Grand Funk Railroad`s Terry Knight,it would`ve been hard to choose. So Herbie`s the man.

The name… 8) …Well, considering that there are 6 musicians in “my” fantasy,I would call them FANTASIX! :D

Guitar or whatever: PRINCE or Slash

I want to be rocked into a frenzy so either of these guys will do.

Drums: I don't know so that's still undecided.

Vocals: Not sure might be Prince on this one.

Saxophone: Still thinking

Well one or two ain't bad.

God, with with regards to chemistry, and I know that is so important...Ugh.

Perry- Lead Vocals
Schon- Lead guitar
B Adams-Bass guitar(songwriting ability and some lead vox)
Nils Lofgren-guitar
Steve Smith-Because I'm pissed at Deen
Bruce Hornsby-Piano(none better)
Greg Rolie- organ
Clarence Clemons- Sax, thumb drums, and imposing figure(Could keep Espee in line if he misbehaves)

Herbie- Obviously no need to comment on God-like fat man. He is my manager.
John Landau would also manage us.

Band Name- Magnificent Seven

Man, there's a lot of different styles of music out there I like, so I put together a couple of bands:

Pop/Rock Band:
Vocals: Terrence Trent D'Arby
Guitar: Neal Schon
Bass: Vic Wooten
Drums: Manu Katche
Keyboards: None

Heavy Rock Power Trio:
Vocals/Guitar: Sammy Hagar
Bass: Michael Anthony
Drums: Virgil Donati

"Heavy Metal" Band
Vocals: Rob Halford
Bass: Jason Newsted
Guitar: Neal Schon
Drums: Scott Travis

Lots of my favorite combinations already exist as bands!

Bass from HSAS is Kenny Aaronson (I think that's his name)
Drums from HSAS is Michael Shrieve

Did you get your drummer mixed up, or is there a drummer named Kenny Arnoff?

OK. I changed my mind.

Lead singer: Charley Pride
Guitar: Chet Atkins
Bass: Who cares? Nobody but us can tell when he'd make a mistake.
Drums: The drummer from the band "Alabama"
Piano: That guy that had that song, "When we get behind closed doors"

Manager: Merv Griffin

Think about it. This thing would GO. You'd have white people feeling guilty about not buying a record from a band fronted by a black man so they'd end up buying it.

Merv Griffin has more money that 33 countries combined.

Oh. You wanted a rock band? Well, I'm in a country mood tonight which doesn't happen much.

Got to be Jack Daley...never heard anyone like him.

Valory's work with Rundgren on "Second Wind" really cements a beat. It's really a fun album.
