Aw, got your fuckers attention.

Ok Einstiens, listen up. In the mid 80's the USSR led by Mikhail Gorbechev introduced capitalism to it's people. Gorbechev knew this would ultimately kick his own ass, yet he did it anyway.

The Journey analogy? Ok.

I am watching Departure DVD and yes, it's phenominal. I see Perry singing like no other ever has, and then, boom! Instrumental. I wonder sometimes, if Perry maybe could do it all over, he would include more instrumentals in concert(in the Escape and Frontiers tours) in an effort to save his voice? He insisted on singing everything, and I can't blame him for that, but you all think his voice could have had some extra years added on if he were able to "not overuse it" so much live?

Either that, or maybe not tour every year for 10 months like they did. Granted, live is where the band lived, and people came in droves to the Journey camp because they were so good.

Also, maybe if Gregg stayed, he could shoulder at least 3 to 4 songs a night and spare Espee some mileage.

Thoughts.

That would make sense but some people have to have it their way no matter what the price.

And I knew someone named Katy and I disliked her immensely.

Phenomenal is the right word. That`s why people were obsessed to see them.As for Perry,I don`t think he could have done it any other way.He HAD to give out 110% cuz that`s the kind of a singer he was.He sure was living through his voice.I also think he had respect for the people in the audience. He never spared himself,no matter how many nights per week he had to go out and sing.
Overuse in concerts, endless recording sessions, drugs and age. These are voice killers.
I think nothing could have saved him.Call it destiny.

Yes it is a good show, camera men were a little weird at the end, other than that. Perry should have had someone else singing too, but I doubt his ego around the 80's would have let that happen. But it sure could have saved the voice of Rock-ERIC

It may have helped his voice. But I do not think his voice is the only reason Perry refused/refuses to continue. IMO Perry has had it with fame. He has developed a phobia about being in the limelight. Remember (paraphrasing) " the cost had gotten great. People new me wherever I went. " He was isolating himself. Also, with regard to WYLAW garnering a Grammy nomination "This meant it wasn't going to be just a one off thing" or something like that. He saw the immediate attention that song got and the large response to a reunited Journey and IMO it scared the hell out of him.
