OT: Prairie Prince is the drummer for the New Cars

Postby JourneyTroll » Thu Jun 08, 2006 5:18 am

Journey's first drummer is now the drummer for the New Cars featuring Prairie Prince (drums), Greg Hawkes (keyboards), Elliot Easton (guitar), Todd Rundgren (lead singer), and Kasim Sulton (bass).

The Cars had many great songs, so I hope The New Cars does well.

Thanks,

They better be a little more careful! :)

The New Cars tour almost got shifted into neutral a few days ago. The band was asleep on their tour bus when it swerved to avoid an accident while traveling from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, toward Vienna, Virginia, early Monday morning (June 5th). Lead guitarist Elliot Easton was thrown from his bunk and suffered a broken left collar bone, but when he was taken to the hospital, he told the doctor, "I've been waiting 17 years for this tour, I'm not missing any shows." True to his word, Easton and the New Cars played last night (Tuesday, June 6th) at the Wolf Trap Filene Center in Vienna, and they'll be at the Bank Of America Pavilion in Boston for a hometown gig tonight

Yeah, they all seem really energized. The new live CD just came out, didn't it?

It came out yesterday, but I don't know what kind of distribution plan they had going. Two of our program directors went out to get it over lunch yesterday and it was nowhere to be found. Neither Best Buy or FYE had it and Barnes and Nobles only had one copy and it was gone by morning. Kmart, Target, Walmart, Shopko...it wasn't anywhere! I guess FYE finally got it in a late afternoon shipment, but that is really weird. Best Buy wasn't even planning on carrying any copies in the future. :?:

That's strange, Angie. Lots of internet buzz about it. Andrew posted some samples from it:
