What kinda contract do you think they'd get?

Postby Free » Fri Jun 02, 2006 8:11 am

Who knows if this will happen but if Perry did come back do you think they'd get a contract from Sony to tour and put out a new album like they did with TBF?

Or do you think no lable in their right mind would give them a red cent to do the reunion?

Um, let's see.

Back up the Brinks truck. They could get millions upon millions, more so with a new CD.

If Perry were to agree, I think Sony would be all over them again. But, I really don't think Perry would ever "tour" again. Maybe a 4-6 show deal at major markets across the US. IMO, even that is a stretch to see realistically happening.

You think so? I tend to agree but would Sony or any big lable be so willing since we all know what happened with the TBF thing?

Espee doesn't guarantee Sony giving them everything they want. I think
they'd give Journey special attention and consideration; but Espee does not have the best track record for giving a little to get a lot. He's pretty
stubborn. That might be a problem if and when he ever decides he wants to sing again.

That about how I see it also, Dano. Just a couple of shows to see and hear the magic again but I guess it's just wishful thinking and especially so for Sony.

Sony/Columbia would have a check at the ready, though not near the TBF days.
If it happened, and I hope it wouldn't, I'd like to see them tell Sony to eat it and stay on Sanctuary if they're still around...think 'Drew's YIR said they're in toruble.

The contract would be
free denture cleaning for live
free big rimmed glasses so the can see the teleprompters
free depends
yogurt for life
and a discount every Tuesday at the Shoney's breakfast buffet.

I think it will be that long before they are back together-ERIC

Since you weighed in on the topic, Andrew, do you think Augeri is leaving one way or another?

You've mentioned this several times before and you seem very firm on the issue. Can you share with us why you feel so strongly on this?

Not to speak for Andrew but he did author a thread devoted to your very question sometime back I think before you were around, Free.
Dave28 would probably be able to find it and bump it back up here and I think now would be a good time to do so.

By the way, I've lost track of who the big record companies are now. Sony and who else?

I know there were lots of mergers in the last 10 years. Just haven't kept up on it.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if there's not already some agreement in place. Why else would Perry be growing his hair out?

Has to have his hair grown out to sing? Like a Samson thing?
That would explain his performance with the ChiSox...

Andrew says it ain't happening, I believe him. None of us have any connection to the band to know. He does. That being said, with Perry, I highly doubt they could both tour and sound like they'd need to sound to be up to the Journey standard. Plus, would Perry want to?

Keep the status quo. This band is very very strong. With a little nudge and promotion, they could do very well, both in record sales and in headlining a tour by themselves. They just need the right promotional arm behind them.

All the Way should have been pushed to the moon. Same with maybe Higher Place and Lifetime of Dreams. There's 2 or 3 #1 singles on that album. Same with Gens. Push Faith, push PIYH, push Never Too Late. There's no reason not to, the material fits well on today's AC format with the Matchbox 20 stuff.

Journey needs promotion and leadership. They need a focus or a goal.
