A Hockey Puck of Hearsay....

Postby Tracker » Mon Jun 26, 2006 1:49 pm

After learning of this website and reading for a week – I’ve been watching an intense hockey game….with a hockey puck of hearsay being knocked back and forth, back and forth, back and forth…

What is interesting is how this is all presented ~ in a tone that is abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful and threatening…all of which is in violation of the registration agreement for this forum. A classic example of cyber-bullying…often motivated by anger, revenge or frustration. Sometimes they do it for entertainment or because they are bored and have too much time on their hands. Many do it for laughs or to get a reaction. I find the credibility and character of cyber-bullies are untrustworthy. I am sure that I will not be disappointed that this post will be greeted with the same mode of contempt.

As far as the subject that has been circulating? ~ Rumours ~ great album by Fleetwood Mac don’t cha think?

And Bravo to Uncle Joe ~

http://unclejoe.com/DailyUpdate1.html
"Remastered & Lip Synced?
Former lead singer Steve Perry has been busy behind the scenes supervising the remastering and repackaging of five of Journey's most successful albums. The new packages, expanded with a few bonus tracks and memorabilia-rich booklets, will be out on August 1st. 1978's "Infinity," which marked the debut of Steve Perry, and 1979's "Evolution" retain their original track lists, while 1980's "Departure" will include two bonus tracks. The multi-million-selling 1981 album "Escape" will include live versions of "Don't Stop Believin'," "Who's Crying Now" and "Open Arms" from the recent archival CD/DVD "Live in Houston," plus the studio track "La Raza Del Sol." The 1988 "Greatest Hits" compilation will now also include the 1996 single "When You Love a Woman." But back on the concert trail, the current version of Journey is beginning their Summer tour with Def Leppard under a cloud of speculation that frontman Steve Augeri has been lip synching while the rest of the band plays live. For some reason, the band hasn't offered an official response to the allegations yet. But let me say these two things: #1, Steve Augeri sure wasn't lip syncing when I was on stage with the band; #2, No one I've ever met (and I've met them all) is good enough to lip sync Journey music for an entire concert — Journey songs are intense vocal workouts. The only thing more stupid than suggesting that is buying into the story."

I wonder why not? Why won't they put this "ridiculous rumour to bed?"

But let me say these two things: #1, Steve Augeri sure wasn't lip syncing when I was on stage with the band;

Uh, Joe, the last time you were on stage he wasn't lipping. That was in 2003 at Arrowfest.

#2, No one I've ever met (and I've met them all) is good enough to lip sync Journey music for an entire concert —

There are actual Lippers who do this for a living? Hell, I can lip Vegas 2001 better than anyone, except Mr Awesome.

Journey songs are intense vocal workouts.

Exactly. The songs are too tough for most who can sing to sing..try putting in a stiff who can't sing; like Augeri.

The only thing more stupid than suggesting that is buying into the story."

Actually, the only thing more stupid is not listening the songs presented before you open your fat hole Joe. You just committed journalist 101 no no. Never validate an unfounded account.

Just as Tracker guessed...laughingly predictable. Classic troll. The stench of it is all over this forum.

Uncle Joe, like me and any other fan out there with more than a single brain cell left in their cranium, ain't buying into the freak's allegations.

Only mystery to me here is what could possibly motivate this miscreant called Beano, er, Deano.

Guess only his therapist(s) will ever really know.

John, let me ask you, have you listened to the evidence? have you? Yet you call me a freak? You are stupid son of a bitch.

How do you know he hasn't listened? Uncle Joe has been known to get around the net. He posted on the VH1 Journey boards a few times back in the day. And usually answers his e-mail. I guess he didn't want to interview you, huh?

He didn't listen Barb, or he wouldn't have said what he said. Notice he didn't say if they were true or not? He simply said He doubts it.

That's amazing! So you HAVE to be right. Anybody who has looked/heard your propoganda MUST believe you. Not a big ego or anything, huh.

I am not sure why you have to bring up something like my profession or get personal like that. I never mentioned anything about being a lawyer because it is irrelevant to this discussion. This is just how you dig yourself a hole.

Listen Barb, and all you stupid twitted BT ers.

You think this is just a prank? You think I am really doing this for attention? You have got to be kidding.

Folks, I am 100% right about this. Why the need to attack me? Why don't you be honest with yourselves and at least listen to the proof, rather than blindly support and defend the band.

The Band is caught whether you believe it or not. I don't give a rats ass about what any of you think but shake yourselves....Fuck, don't be afraid to listen and decide. What in the Fuck are wrong with you people?

Seems one of his fellow DJs, Joe Reiling, feels differently. He is on the same station....KLOS 95.5 in Los Angeles. Friday night he recounted the allegations with the comment "I hope we don't have another Milli Vanilli". He proceeded to give the blog address.

I believe others heard the same thing from other DJs on the same station.

Joe has never mentioned it at all during his show. His personal comments were posted on his own website only...not the station's.

This is also the same station that hosts Bob Coburn's "Rockline" which has canceled Journey's July 12 interview.

No, I think YOU believe it. This may come as a surprise to you but just because YOU believe something it doesn't make it true. I know what I have heard and seen with my own eyes and ears. I am not going to take your word for something based on bootlegs that came from who knows where. And you proudly edit things and throw them up on your site. So, you try shaking yourself and figure out that everyone does not share your opinion. You also need to wake up to the fact that even if everything you are saying is true (not) it is not like you discovered the cure to cancer. It's a band. If you want to screw up your life over this--good luck.

You don't have anything close to being proof. There are many things that I may feel strongly about and yet I know that I can't necesarilly prove them.
You have listened to a bootleg and the Vegas show from 2001 and they sound the same to you. But that hardly proves anything at all.

I can scream and shout all day long that I am the king of England (and yes I know there isn't currently a king of England) but it doesn't make it true. You feel strongly that you know it to be a fact that Augeri has been lip-syncing, but so far that is all you have, a strong feeling.
Maybe if you stopped stating it as absolute fact and just said I feel this to be the case, or that you feel at a later date you will be able to prove it, then maybe I and others will take you more seriously?

How about jeremy's thread, in which I asked him to do that for me. That isn't proof?

I'll await your next answer.

 HOW IT ALL STARTED

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact origin of the 'Paul Is Dead' hoax. Some believe the Beatles and Apple Records started the rumor as a marketing ploy to sell albums. That John Lennon started it out of jealousy. That overzealous fans conjured up the idea. Or that Paul McCartney is actually dead, and this was the way it was announced.

We may never know the true origin of the hoax. However, we do know how it was brought into public knowledge.

In 1969 Russell Gibb, a radio Disc Jockey in Detroit, announced that Paul McCartney was dead. His proof: evidence strewn throughout the Beatles' songs, movies, and album artwork. Newspaper and television reporters picked up the story and the news quickly spread across America.

Hey, Einstein...a post has to have a purpose....a meaning...

What was the reason for your starting this thread...??

You have something to bring to the table, bring it...Dean has evidence on his side to back him up in this whole episode...

If you have something, bring it....

Dont just waltz in here, claiming its all BS, but with nothing to show....

Again, post if you have something to sensible to say, with a purpose...not just because you can....
