Topaz?

Postby conversationpc » Wed Jun 28, 2006 1:13 pm

Any other fans of the instrumental "Topaz" here? It's one of my favorite instrumentals from anyone, period, and I'm not particularly a big fan of them.

Yep, I agree. Love the first three albums and was pleased that Journey took a chance last year and played songs from that era.

Count me in on that. The only one I wish they would've left out was "Mystery Mountain". I remember saying at the time that a song about a magic volcano just didn't seem to fit for some reason.

Wish they had done I Would Find You and Karma, Jon sang a little too much, should have thrown in a couple from Neal...or Neal could have same some of Gregg's lead vocals, I can hear him doing a cool job on Hustler.

Unfortunatly, Topaz is cut. That was the song I was looking forward to the most when I d/led it. OH well...
I'm still looking for a copy of Nickel & Dime from the tour last year. Houston got shafted and we didn't get it.

I d/led it a while ago...but if this link is inactive www.guitars101.com and go to the "Bootlegs-other bands" link...it'll be in there somewhere.

One of the great early instrumentals, along the lines of Cookie Duster. Topaz prolly shoulda made the box set, too.
