Favorite vocalists other than Perry or Augeri?

Add me to the list of JLT fans, esp. Odyssey. Love that album.

I also love Sammy, of course. Other favorite voices are Rik Emmitt, Geddy Lee, Lou Gramm, Aldo Nova, Randy Jackson (of Zebra), and Lenny Wolf (of Kingdom Come).

Three others that come to mind are Aimee Mann, Donald Fagen and Kate Bush.

My favorites, after Steve Perry are:

Steve Walsh, Ann Wilson, Mike Reno of Loverboy

I was surprised to only see one vote for Steve Walsh and none yet for Mike Reno. Reno has the most powerful voice I've ever heard. His vocal control in a live performance is unrivaled in such songs as Take Me to the Top.

Michael is the most UNDERRATED and UNDERAPPRECIATED Classical & Opera Singer. Believe it or not, he started out as lead singer for a METAL BAND :shock:

and brought his voice over to Classical.

He brings a "Rock Attitude" to his live performances.....seriously, he will MAKE YOU LOVE his music! LOL

I think if he had been in a band that was as popular as Journey was during the early to mid 80's, he probably would've gotten noticed more. Unfortunately, the guy didn't take care of his voice or use proper technique to keep the ol' pipes in shape. He is sounding better than he has in a long time, though, since he kicked the drug habit to the curb.

I can't believe I left him off my list...He was the man back in the day. His range was incredible, especially considering how low his speaking voice is. He apparently smokes like a chimney, which I wasn't aware of until recently.

Power vocalists...James LaBrie, Geoff Tate,Paul Rodgers, John Farnham, Sammy Hagar and the queen of all female voices,Ann Wilson

Soulful singers...Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson

Then Bryan Adams, Lou Gramm,Don Henley,Sting.

But in my book,all these singers come after The Voice,of course.

Wow this is a hard question to answer!
I'll go with Alan Doyle from Great Big Sea
as being my fave after Steve Perry.
Not that Alan's voice can even be compared
to the likes of Lou Gram's or Geddy Lee's
of rock but man this guy can sing a ballad
like no ones business.
Sir Paul McCartney and Billy Joel also climb
to the top on my musical ladder.
Again I don't think they have fantastic voices as
singers go but they hook line and sinker me
every time.
