Nice try at spin, Bozo.

This has never, and will never be, about Steve Perry.

You need a white flag?

Goofy it always is.
No matter what the topic is about, Steve Perry will always been in it, sonner or later.
If Kevin Chalfant was lead singer, Perry would be in it. And this is not a knock on Perry. Perry is the bar that every singer in Journey or out, has to beat. Perry is the voice of Rock.
Augeri haing some problems, then whay is Perry in about every thread on this.
I don't don't need a white flag, maybe some black flag to spray on your pesty self-ERIC

I laugh when people say that it's been 8 years and nothing...... Had Journey's lineup remained unchanged since Raised on Radio they would STILL be a nostalgia act at this point even with Perry still around. And if he came back, yes it would pop a successful tour. But only one. After that, the fact is it's still a band full of 50 somethings and hit records do not come to these acts very often in the year 2006.

I very much agree with this paragraph.

Except I wonder how successful a reunion tour with Perry would really be... since there are still plenty of people who didn't know he was gone in the first place! It might only be more successful in that it brings Perry diehards back to the shows.

I think it would do very well for one shot. (see the Kiss reunion from 1996). After that they would fall back to nostalgia status. That is not a slight in any way shape or form. Merely a fact of all of us getting older. Our favorite bands from this era do not have hit records anymore. If they do it's usually an aberration.

I remember when I was younger thinking my parents music (Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons, etc) was so old.....

Now kids that like Limp Biscuit or whatever think the same of Journey, Styx, Foreigner, etc. Sure they may like it a bit (as I did some of my parents favorites). However it's still from the past. That's all.

Yep...and I've been saying the exact same thing for years. How many bands from 1955 would have been nearly as successful in 1980? Why should anybody expect a band who reached their peak in 1981 (or so) remain popular in 2006? That is something VERY rare.

Steve Augeri has ALWAYS been a fuckin' phony. His smile and charm fooled those stupid fuckin' Bters...but not me. He went on stage and FAKED...PERIOD. He's a disgrace to music in general. Fuck him.

Not stupid enough to say things that I have to take back a few weeks later.

I was begging Perry back, you fucking right I was..and look, I was right about Augeri lipping. He cannot sing.

First of all, NEITHER of those has been 'proven' to me. I'll wait to hear Svante's concert before I decide on the 'tape' issue. The second issue of 'he cannot sing', well, you're wrong about that. ANYBODY can sing...some better then others. Even Steve Perry can sing. But, we've only had TWO WEEKS worth of concerts...It took Perry having the entire ROR tour and the first half of the FTLOSM tour to convince me that his singing sucked...So, I'm willing to give Augeri some time.

Perry sadly, is done with Journey[/quote'

Duh. I've been saying that since the TBF 'tour'.

BUT what don't you get dumbass, THIS entire episode has absolutely nothing to do with Steve Perry.

Sure it does. Before the big blow up, ALL of your 'supporters' were Perry fans. What has been going on in this forum has a LOT to do with wanting Journey to fail for all of the same old reasons Perry fans ALWAYS want Journey to fail...because Perry is not in the band. You're just their puppet.

There never was a TBF tour, the first tour after TBF was called Vacation's Over...

Do you know if Journey had a contract with Steve Augeri that needed to be complete or was finished last year but they may not have given him one this year? Just curious if you don't know I'll see if Deano does when I catch up to him.
