JSS...wow, dude has testes. JSS=Journey/Soul/Sirkus. Dude brings in a value that can only take this band places.

I think you should direct your spiteful energy toward world issues instead of working on tearing an AOR band apart...

Yep.. agreed.. JC is the Journey Conductor. He leads the band on stage. I guess some people  can't let go of conspiracy theories and must always have a place in some spotlight to fuel their ego-centric fires. :!:

Hey ace, I 'm still waiting to be fined by RIAA. You getting lazy, or giving up?

I've yet to see concrete evidence of that.

And my point was, and remains, that Deano's statement was false...which it was.

Well, at least you are making progress. You are starting to catch on, but haven't realized that the same applies to your posts!

Well, it's obvious that you are nothing here but a troll. I think the best thing the rest of us can do is just ignore this little man.

The troll card may be often invoked, but that doesn't make it any less accurate.
The band has started fresh on Friday.
I am excited for their future.
Can't you do the same.

I will always be excited for the band's future, regardless of whether Augeri returns, or JSS (a fine talent who I've had the great pleasure of meeting) remains.

Why on earth would you question that, based on what I've said?

Because the lip-synch scandal (no matter what side you're on) is a thing of the past.
Let it lie, man, let it lie.
The band has done right by its fans and I, for one, am ecstatic.

I've been thinking this JSS deal through a bit more. I remember hearing "Believe in Me" last year and immediately getting pissed off. Its clearly a "Journey" song and I liked it, but Journey wasn't doing anything on a new record (before Generations was released). So, if JSS is now in Journey, maybe they can get on with it. This song pretty well rocks and is as close to Journey as anything I've heard from JSS. Have a listen and let me know what you think. I'm still noodling on this deal.

Wasn't there some talk about Faith in the Heartland originally being written for Soul Sirkus??? They didn't like it for SirkUS, so it ended up on a Journey CD???

It seems there was some talk of FITHL being written for Soul SirkUS but I can't remember for sure. My memory isn't that good anymore. : ) Deano, what's the scoop on this one?

It was written from the SS days, not completed, and JRNY finished it off.

Both, "Faith in the Heartland" and "Out of Harm's Way" were initially written for "Planet US" and then were brought into "Soul Sirkus" and eventually found their way into "Journey".

No. Neal when into a writing frenzy a while back and he wrote a bunch of riffs and stuff. He took most of this stuff and made a solo record and alot of it went with him into Planet Us. Then, after that went awry, he took them into Sirkus. JSS added lyrics and made structural/musical changes to the Neal material he dug and other Neal material he left alone. Jon Cain heard some of the unused material and whipped it into shape for "Generations".
For example, its reported that Jon heard what Neal had already written for "Out of Harm's Way" and thought instantly, "this sounds like war".
He then put on his lyrical cap and went to town on it.

I hope this is a fresh chapter in Journey's history. It is my opinion that Soto is the change Journey has needed for years now. You don't replace Perry with a soundalike. (For those that say Augeri was not hired to be a vocal "clone", go back and watch Deen say that he was Steve Perry with a perm on Separate Ways during BTM). You replace Perry with a singer who has his own style, who brings something different to the table.

I keep hearing people say "This is just temporary, Augeri will be back". I am not buying that for even a second.

I also don't think you can judge ANYTHING on fan acceptance from this tour. It is my understanding that most of the crowds are DL fans, and Journey is viewed as a warm-up band. With Augeri, I would tend to agree with this view.

It is no secret that I am not an Augeri fan. I don't know much about Soto, but I like what I hear when he tones his voice down from screamer to singer. I am pulling for Soto like the Augeri Heads pulled for Augeri.

I believe Journey is going to open things up, get noticed, and finally write something worth listening to. In my opinion, Generations was a joke - a horrible album. I want them to find time to write this year, get in the studio next year, and become a HUGE blip on the radar screen.

JOURNEY IS BACK ! In a way that hasn't happened since Trial By Fire :D .

Finally, something to get excited about with the band, with the internet boards, and with the music.

Agree 100%!
