Its going to be a great summer at the fair this year.

Nah, can't stand the Doobies. Mainly because of the Michael McDonald era that my mother listened to constantly when I was young. Can't stand that stuff.

I'll be seeing Lifehouse @ the State Fair 8/22 -- not on the list for some reason.

ummm, good news for you, MMD doesn't tour with them anymore. I wish I could be back in the states to see him with Steely Dan the night before I come back home though.

Damn... Rick Springfield is on a Tuesday, no way I can get up to Sac for that on a school nite... :) At least REO are playing the San Mateo County fair and THAT is within walking distance for me. :D

I know he's long since left, but I'm still SO not taken with the songs (other than maybe China Grove) that I refuse to pay even $10 to see 'em.

Well that plus God only knows how many guys in a given real band are original or even close. In a band like Journey you kinda know what you're in for going in. But something like Grand Funk or somebody where there's like one guy left from the originals it gets to be kinda ridiculous to even charge for the shows at all. Go play the Beer Garden or something, open for the guy with the different pitched bicycle horns taped to his body. I hear he can play the theme to Miami Vice dead-on!

I'm going to see Eddie Money tonight at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. He's got to be a hundred years old by now! I wonder if he'll be singing for real!

he is singing, but from the reports not so well.

Big J. I understand that for sure. I said this past week here in the forums, that you can take the lead singer and have any musician who can replicate the music behind you, but that doesn't make it the original band. But in some cases, it can be better than a different singer with one or two original or long time members in it, backing them up.
