Steve Augeri

I have been putting some thought into the Augeri situation, and sitting back thinking it has become so much more clear to me what could be going on. It was really quite simple when putting my medical background and own life into the situation. People ask why Augeri, Neal, management or someone else has said nothing about him. Some have even ask his wife (Lydia) to come forward. Here is what I have found. A real sweetheart on this forum has reminded me about how these posts can sometimes turn, but this could bring some good adult discussion for the adults here. I have concluded that the reason noone has said anything yet is because there is probably nothing yet to tell. Tests take time. The actual test may not, but the results certainly do. Sometimes conditions are hard to diagnose. When Kevin hinted that they did not know yet if Augeri will return, there is absolutely no reason to not believe that statement. Truth be known Steve, his doctors, his wife, nor anyone else probably know for sure yet. What does seem obvious is that Steve has not been let go, and everyone is on a holding pattern. Nothing wrong with that. Even once he is diagnosed, he may have to take various medications, rest, and do a lot of other things before he could ever even think about another go at it. If he has RA, there is no cure however there are many treatment options that could make him feel MUCH better. RA is not simply arthritis. It is an autoimmune disease that is very serious and makes a person extremely ill. I WILL NOW MAKE A PART 2 SO IT'S NOT TOO LONG!!

Food for thought there.
:)
And sometimes when someone is given their medical results, there is often a choice of treatments.
The patient may need time to take in what their condition is, and then, what the choices are, and then, which course of action to follow.

All takes time.

Good points raised, jrnysc.

It's true that results take a long time. Not that long ago I had hormone blood tests and had to wait 2 weeks just for the results of that. Whatever Steve is being tested for will be more complicated so will probably take longer than that.

Also, you say Kevin hinted that they don't know if he will come back. I think if he's ill like that it's probably likely that he won't be able to come back... but since no-one knows yet, I'm not saying that's the case. It was good to get a wee update in the form of that though.

Good post mate!

He may not. It will just depend on the severity of his illness, his treatment options, and probably lots of vocal work to get them chords back in order!!

IF there is anything else going on, then vocal problems should be the least of anyone's worries I'd say.
