Like so many I have to say my mother and father.
My mom died suddenly due to a fall resulting in massive head trauma. Her life was spent raising 6 children and being my dad's best friend. She made do with what we had and along with my pop gave me the best childhood. Her strength, tenacity, and smile were all given to me.
My pop suffered with a terminal illness and never let us know how much pain he was in. He fought in WWII as a sailor. He was Irish-Catholic in every sense

. His love for my mother never waivered and serves as an inspiration in my life. He worked hard and gave all he could. What we lacked in material things was made up in spades with love and support. My father's character put most to shame. He was a bookie on the side and loved his ponies! He wrapped our Christmas presents in newspaper, mine the Sunday comics. He gave me my sense of humor.
My sister Katy. She became the rock in my life and without her support I would not make it. She also cooks like my mom whenever I ask
I could go on forever about my parents, but inevitably my eyes fill with tears. I miss them terribly.
My favorite place- being with my siblings. The dinner table at Thanksgiving. Drinking beer with my sisters. An empty beach. Being in a grove of Aspens.
