OT: Currently "Charting" Music

What is your favorite band, individual singer, or song, that is CURRENTLY charting on Billboard's Top 100 ? I know this is a tough one, given the choice's anymore. Some will say nothing good has come out since the 80's! Occasionally there are some I like, though. My current pick is Nickleback. 8)

I don't have a clue who is on the charts right now, so I will have to say none.

I listen to a lot of current bands but none of them are on the charts and most are really only popular in Europe and/or Japan.

Is T-Rex charting?

I guess my favorite new band is Fivespeed.

They're not on there right now, but have been recently -- Lifehouse. The only other current music I like is Rob Thomas and/or Matchbox Twenty. Three Doors Down are pretty good too.

What's "billboard" and "charting?" I don't know if these guys meet your criteria, but I like Alter Bridge really well. they are new and you should give them a listen! 8) They have a real heavy and melodic guitarist named Mark Tremonti, and look what he said about our man Neal:

"Tremonti isn’t just trying to be ”Paul Gilbert, version 2004,” though. He’s working hard to put the flood of melodies in his head to his fret-board as well. ”I really want to get to the level of, say, a Neal Schon, and where I can foresee a melody in my head and just go for it on the guitar,” says Tremonti, who is also beginning to explore the blues guitar in his practice time, pointing to his Tascam guitar trainer and the Texas Flood disc inside." http://www.mark-tremonti.com/mtg12004.html

Nickelback is the only current rock/pop group I even recognize.

As posted in another thread, I enjoy country artists like Little Big Town and Sugarland.

I am sure they are charting in the country lists - does that count :?:

I am so not in touch with today's music

I didn't know most of the artists in the top 100...but if I were to pick from the handful that I DID recognize, I'd have to say Red Hot Chili Peppers or Guns N' Roses.

I dunno who is charting on the Billboard charts now. I am still stuck back in the late 60's, 70's and 80's music. I do listen to Jack FM in the car, and they play whatever they want. :D

O.K.,,O.K....If there is nothing on the current chart's you can find that you like....How about this one: favorite artist or band that came out since 2000!!!! Just broadening the question! 8)

Music has changed so much.
I really hate this rap R'n'B type stuff and the way Mariah warbles every word, and Christina Aguilera too. Good voices but I hate the style.
I play my Journey and SP solo stuff a lot and Donald Fagen etc, and never tire of them - but new stuff? That's a tough call.

I enjoy listening to the first Keane album. It's not a rocker, but its easy on the ears. Pleasant, I guess you'd call it.
I just bought the new Orson album because I heard their single on the radio. there are 2 or 3 catchy numbers on it - it's not 'melodic rock' but I'm quite enjoying listening to it.
The Kooks look okay too, they were live on tv recently and sounded good - I haven't bought their album, though.
Franz Ferdinand have an edge to them, very reminiscent of the Jam - but I can't really think of any other new stuff that has 'touched' me.
A lot of new stuff just sounds like 'noise' to me.

There's not alot out there I really listen to thats current. I do like LOS LONELY BOYS quite a bit. TOOL still rocks. And I think the ARCADE FIRE are pretty interesting. NIckleback just don't cut it with me. 20 years ago those guys wouldn't even have gotten signed.
SPeaking of SOUL SIRKUS, I'd love to get a copy of the show they did in England that the PURPLE RAIN/FAITHFULLY medley came from (which was absolutely stunning, I might add) Any ideas?
