"Pride Of The Family" Jap only track on guitars10

Noticed this track on guitars101 today

This is from Generations, Jap only I think? certainly wasn't on my UK copy. Cain on vocals. Uninspiring! dull, best left off the US and Europe release (my opinion)

I will leave the moral decision, of whether or not to download it up to you, maybe you should order the Jap import :?

I may like it a little better if it was somebody other that Jon singing the lead vox on it. I really don't care for his singing. He's fantastic on the ivorys though.

i have one of jons solo albums where he redoes faithfully,, he wrote it, its in his own style , but yea , his vocals dont do it,, but on every generation, he sounds really good,, would have loved that tune if SA sang it,,,

My thoughts.....
This song has the potential to be a cool stripped-back melancholy number in the same lyrical vein as "Troubled Child".
Sadly, Jon Cain sings the whole thing through what sounds like his left nostril.
Steve A. should've sang this one, I'm afraid.
He would've instilled it with alot more human feeling.

Also, Neal needs to learn to let some accoustic songs just be accoustic songs. By overriding the accoustic with the electric he risks spoiling the whole effort. Here it's passable, but it ruins any emotive momentun "Butterfly" begun to have going for it. I dig the accoustic/electric trade-off on "Patiently", here it just doesn't work for me.

Also, much like "Every Generation", structurally, the song feels strangely half-baked.
