Been out of town a few days and just caught up on this big-ass thread!
Why couldn't he just stay home and leave Journey the hell alone? Hasn't he done enough damage to their reputation yet? There have been alot of people willing to put this aside since they got rid of his ass and replaced him with someone who could (and IS) actually singing this time. If they start hanging with him again, their credibility is back down the tubes, IMO. Either move on with Soto and put Augeri far into the past, or risk a backlash by the people who gave you a second chance to redeem yourselves. I heard more than enough on 3 of my local radio stations about tape-gate to make me embarrassed to be a fan. Why the hell would they want to associate themselves AGAIN with the person that could have ruined Journey's reputation permanently? They worked all those years to be the best at their game and let it come to this?
If Augeri had any class at all or was greatful for the opportunity he got, he would stay as far away from them and allow Soto to do his thing without interruption. I mean geez, it's not like he is Steve Perry coming to see how HIS songs are being delivered.
IMO, dude has no shame. He duped fans and has no business at any Journey gigs.

The ONLY ones ruining Journey's reputation is Journey if in fact Augeri is out and they have chosen not to tell the fans. They need to fucking end this now if SA has been booted.

Just read a rock -n- roll mag from England I think it is called Classic Rock and it is there right on the cover " Is Journey Miming" A two page article and it metions Deano's name and his blog and all the stuff that was said and some points by the reporter Svente patterson.. . I say and have said in the past Journey needs too say something, it is too late now and its time too put Augeri too bed. I was an Augeri fan from 98-05 but didn't like what I read, heard and put together myself in 06. Im not convinced he didn't sing in 05, just because I thought he sounded bad in 05 and metioned that in my review. But the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood didn't get rave reviews for the first couple of shows for the sound so maybe the sound was just off...who knows. I like what Im hearing with JSS loved the show I saw, looking forward too the next one 11/7/06.

Journey doesn't control that. Management does.

Go re-read Andrew's write up of Augeri's departure.
It was written like a godamn eulogy.
Read between the lines, folks.

To be honest, the only ones ruining Journey's reputation are the fans who keep dredging this up. It does nothing to Journey's rep to "hang" with Steve. In fact, it shows a public friendship which is important since the story is that he has a throat infection. IF the statement addressed Steve's alledged "miming" THEN it would be harmful to the band's rep. But that is not the "story"...

Actually I would love to read it. I'm new to the site and would appreciate a point in the right direction so I could find it?

Thanks! :D

TNC,
Thanks for the link. I gotta be honest, I didn't read that as even close to being an obit. If anything that was one of the more optimistic articles in SA's favor I have seen regarding the whole replacement issue.

Again...thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
