To the forum members:

Can we please stop with the bashing of the fans? It is tiresome and getting old.
I say everyone has the right to their opinion. At some point or another the band
members of Journey have done bad moves and we critique them because we
expect the best from them. I am not here to fight with anyone of you for your
opinion. You have yours I have mine and we will never change that for we are
all different people.

To the band:

If you truly read this board (aside from JSS the new comer) why haven't
you communicated with your fans? You have an official website that serves no
purpose, you ignore the fans like we don't matter. That is not the way to go about gaining fansif you can't keep the ones you already have. Lord knows you lost 80% of the fanbase when you parted with Perry and you think you would learn from your past mistakes but from the looks of it you haven't.

Get back to the music try and establish a relationship with Steve Perry not only for our sake but yours as well. The only time you were successful was with him in the band.
If you guys could put all your differences aside you could possibly make a splash again.

I am done with Radio & TV they have absolutely worn me out with all that crap they like to call music. You know just because you have a girl showing her boobs and snatch DOES NOT mean your song is a hit. Fuck, all of these singers wait scratch that rappers have no craft at all . I say if you want to hear somone talk fast go to an auction and if you want to see T&A watch a porno flick.

Thank God for the music of the 80's that was a magical time. Sad to say most people don't realize what they have till it is gone. I was watching TV late at night just because
I love the SciFi channel and came accross an infomercial my 19 yr old neice was like "OMG I love these songs they are so true to their word. Can I have this for Christmas?" I told her honey, I am getting that for myself you can make copies if you like.
I have noticed a change in her when she gets in the truck with me as she used to put that crappy music on now she looks for the classic rock stations. I am so proud of her.

Sorry to say it, but this isn't the duty of the band...they offered Steve an invitation to come sing with them...he obviously doesn't want anything to do with them....and the thought that they cant be successful without Perry is flat out Bullshit. They aren't trying to make hits...if they wanted a top selling record they wouldn't have given them away at concerts. But I do agree, we need to hear something...

No, no, no I meant I want them to make amends with each other for the simple fact that you can't move on if you do not close certain chapters in your life. Yes, I know they've made music and so forth, but lets be honest it wasn't anything to celebrate about. I can hear what's missing why can't they?

I want for them to stop wasting ours and their time proving to each other that they can exist without the other. They need to grow the fuck up! They are old men going into their 60's and holding grudges from some 30 years ago. You know, God forbid one of them passes away and then the remaing are all going to be wishing they had worked together just one more time just for the what could of been.

I'm on record as a huge Perry fan. I know a lot of people say Perry wasn't Journey, and everyone is entitled to their opinion. My opinion is that if Perry never became a member of Journey, websites like this wouldn't even exist today (at least not the section about Journey), because nobody would give a shit! That said, has it ever occurred to you that Perry has ZERO interest in re-joining Journey, in any capacity at all? I honestly don't think Perry has any interest in recording music. Most Journey fans will ALWAYS consider Journey to be Perry, Cain, Valory, Smith, and Schon. That lineup will never happen again, period, end of story! As much as I'd love to hear Perry record music again, I'm not holding my breath. Also, as a lifelong Journey fan who thought "Generations" SUCKED, I am very excited to hear some new material with JSS at the helm. If Augeri had recorded another CD with Journey, I would not have spent my money on it, after listening to the abortion that was "Generations"!

John, sorry to butt in, but have to put my 2pennies in. First I agree with you. When Jon Cain called and fractured the stone(Steve's words) they broke his heart. IMO thats why he has no interest in re-joining them - at least not until they hug and kiss and make-up. They need to personally call and apologize to him. They all still love each other underneath-a friendship like they had does not go away so easily, no matter how many years there are in between.
Without Perry Journey is not Journey. I am not quite so sure I like to hear JSS sing the old material, but he is a good singer and fantastic frontman and he needs his own songs with them. People are comparing him too much and expect it to sound like SP which is not fair. They need to write one while they are on the road and play it live so that he can make it his own. Just one would do.! Seems like everyone is rambling tonite. Just took my vicodin so forgive me.

I have said this before not only was Perry upset that the band continued with out him but that in later years his replacement was not evan singing live but using a tape.Which i would imagine from Perry's view is all the more reason to not continue as a band! So for him to get up on stage and sing with a guy miming is not going to happen,no wonder he wanted to distance himself.
The only way Perry would hit the stage with Journey would be at a last ever show maybe if they called it a day?

John u & me haven't agreed on everything lately, but u never ever said a truer word than this. That album was a fuckin' joke. A Better Life was the best song on it. After many listens, Faith In The Heartland is ok. But yep, the album was for the most part an abortion. Painful too. They forgot to anesthetize us fans 1st.

Deano- I am entitled to my opinion! I do believe he had medical problems beyond the hip thing. Journey of old without Perry is not Journey--I mean the sound- it needs a slight change to include Jeff. I know the boots are no real indication of his ability to sing. so I listened to other songs from SS-WOW--what a difference. They need to write new material now to include Jeff and still have some of the Journey-ish sound, but with Jeff's vocals in mind, like Neal did with SP. I'm looking forward to seeing Jeff, as everything I have seen on U-Tube has been very exciting.
