Apples and oranges. I hate country music, but Faith is a class act, Mariah is a skanky diva.

apples and oranges are both Fruit ,Angiekay---and Mariah was only about 19-21 when that happened do you think she was a diva then?

Absolutely....and you're a little fruity yourself, Yulog.

Fucker. You stole my words. I thought I had that copyrighted.

Anyway, Knox, one question for you.

Why the FUCK were you watching the CMA's and NOT Monday Night Football. I know it was the Raiders and your High School team could entertain better than them, but dude? What were you thinking?

 Now THAT was funny!

Actually, Country is all I listen to if not listening to Journey or some other 80's music. Top 40 sucks these days, and Country is much more mainstream than the twangy crap of old. And have you seen the women who SING country music???
I love Sugarland, Rascal Flatts, Sarah Evans, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith, heck, I even like our hometown boy Kenny (Mr. Ex-Zellweger) Chesney.

I can't listen to our top 40 stations anymore with all that bile they put on the airwaves. The 70's and 80's station is alright, but I get tired of the same old songs there, too. Country is fresh and new, with musicians who WRITE and PLAY some of their own stuff. Nothing is canned in a synthesizer or computer, the music is genuine even if it was written by someone in their office and played by a big named gal.

I agree Knox. Country has changed and I'm enjoying it more also. The twangy country sound and corny lyrics were a turn off before but it's all together different now.

If Journey doesn't finally live up to it's name when they write new material and if Perry officially throw's in the towel, I'll probably move out to the country. It would be interesting if Perry took on a little country tho.

I must admit, my wife has helped turn me on to country. Some of the new stuff is pretty good, MUCH better than most pop and rock being payola'd on regular radio.

That's part of the problem, though. It's now more like pop music instead of being country music. Watered down Country music, basically.

I totally agree. I don't listen to country regularly but what I've heard of the new country music is much better than anything I hear on the top 40. I don't like twangy, hillbilly stuff but Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Rascal Flats. Faith Hill, and so forth are doing some good music.

Just because someone is great looking and men (& some women) would do her, doesn't mean she can't be a diva. Money and fame changes people as I pointed out earlier in this thread. Did you ever see the Oprah episode with her and her husband on it? She was such a bitch to him when he tried to crack jokes, WHILE they were cooking. I thought it would entertaining, but she totally turned my off of wanting to watch the rest of the show.

(A birdy told me, honest)

I don't view it that way. I see it as going more pleasantly "Rock" than "Pop"
