For my ears, I think Neal's voice doesn't belong anywhere as a lead vocalist. Could the guy sing in a Karaoke bar??? I'm sure he probably could. That said, this is the major leagues, and he simply doesn't have a major league voice!!!! He should stick to guitar, where he is the master!

Neal has a cool voice, I love his stuff with Jan Hammer. No, he will never be known for his voice, but it is a cool rock voice, not much range, tho.

Bored you??? The dude can't sing!!!!! His voice would lull most of us into a coma! Tell Neal to stick to the 6-string and leave the singing to guys with pipes! Why is it that every musician feels the need to be a vocalist? I'm still shocked that Neal apparently thinks he can sing!

Sorry John, I meant "Voice" bored me. I actually think Neal does ok singing...nothing special, that's true. But what he did on Late Nite was good for the songs. And Schon/Hammer was good for the songs. He just does not really belong on a Journey disc. Although People And Places was fine, as was what he did on Next (I think).

I disagree...I believe it was always Planet US. Something they incorporated when it became Soul SirkUS.

Yea, I think Neal has got a decent voice for Rock music. Nothing stellar, but fine just the same. Sounds great on No More Lies/Bottles and the other S&H tunes. Sounded good on Late Nite too. No Perry of course, but there are many singers with limited to no range that do quite well. Clapton, SRV, Tom Petty, Paul Rogers, DLR, Brian Setzer, Bob Segar, Jack Blades, and the list goes on and on. If you are only looking for outstanding voices with alot of range, then you are missing out on some great music. Again it's only RnR......

Either way, the name is fairly lame. They should come up with something a little better.

But, it would be great if Neal and Sammy would do something together again.

I would like to hear Neal do another Blues CD ala Pirahna Blues (I could even hear JSS singing) or going back to Late Nite and the more subtle yet pop-oriented solo work.

How it is said and how it is written are two different things. I was not writing Planet U.S. I do think it is the word "us", just using capitals...
