better check your liner notes, Steelheart was the other "band" in that soundtrack, 'We all die young" is Steelheart, as are some other songs.

lol- "Steel Dragon" had 2 lead singers: JSS & Mike Matijevic!!

I don't think any of the other members of Steelheart were actually on there, but could be totally wrong, I can't remember all their names, just Matijevic, but do remember other members were Zakk Wylde, Jeff Pilson, & Jason Bonham.

And Mr. Sammy Hagar wrote "Stand Up". :)

One of my faves was the tune Marky Mark was singing
at the end in the little bar...
It's a tune called "Colorful" by The Verve...
Yea, it's a slow one but its pretty fuckin' good.

And a couple other singers 'in' the film.
Third Eye Blind's Stephen Jenkins (lucky fucker's nailin' Vanessa Carlton)
was the rival Tribute Band singer at the beginning of the movie.
And Alter Bridge lead singer Miles Kennedy was the guy Marky mark
pulled out of the crowd at the end to take over.

If you haven't heard Alter Bridge you need to check them out.
It's basically the 3 original members of Creed with a
bigger and absolutely better singer than that tool Stapp.
Thier debut was great and i think the follow-up will be coming soon...

Yep, "Colorful" is a great song.

Thanks for the other info, I wondered who that singer at the end was! I thought he was just an actor, had no clue he's the singer for Alter Bridge! 8)

Forgot to mention earlier too, Blas Elias from Slaughter is the drummer in the tribute band Mark's character is in before "joining" Steel Dragon, lol. Not that anyone cared to know that, lol. 8)

And Nick Cantenese, The Evil Twin and second axe in BlacK Label Society with Zakk, is the other guitarist in Wahlberg's tribute band Blood Pollution.

Then you had Ralph Saenz as the guy auditioning right as Marky Mark went in for his, gave Marky a dirty look as he was wlking out...
He's been a few 80s tribute bands like the very popular VH tribute band, Atomic Punks, and the hilarious Hair Metal Parody bands Metal Shop and Metal Skool.

Holy crap! I wondered who that was too because he looked sooooo familiar, but the black hair threw me off apparently, LOL! I'm used to his blond in Atomic Punks, lol. You are just full of little trivias from this movie, thanks! lol 8)

And then there was Brian Vander Ark, lead singer for The Verve Pipe (sang that tune 'The Freshman')
He was Blood Pollutions Bass Player AND he wrote and sang on that song "Colorful"...
i guess it was The Verve Pipe, not just The Verve...
Gotta update that on my iPod.

And finally, Jeff sang for all the scenes you see original Steel Dragon frontman Bobby Beers singing.
The Steelheart dude does all the singing for marky's 'live' performances :)

BTW, I'm not THAT smart, although I did recognize all these guys the first 3-4 times I wtched the movie.
(yea, I actually really enjoyed it). But you can get a ton of info here in interested... I did :)

I recognized alot of them too first time I saw it, lol. Drove my hubby nuts with "hey that's the drummer for Slaughter. And that's the bassist for Dokken. And that's Jason Bonham. And that's Zakk Wylde"...you get the picture. To which his response of course was "how & why do you know all this shit?" lol

I actually really like the movie too! 8)

ok heres what i know, It was the singer of Steelheart...sorry for the corn-fusion.

from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steelheart

Rock Star
In 2001, Matijevic provided the voice for Mark Wahlberg's character in the movie, Rock Star, a story about a music fan who gets to become the singer for his favourite band. Jeff Scott Soto (of Talisman & Malmsteen) provided the voice of the fictional band's original singer. The band itself was made up of Zakk Wylde, who's played with Ozzy Osbourne, Jeff Pilson (Dokken) and Jason Bonham, son of Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. The film also featured a re-recording on the song "We All Die Young", from the "Wait" album.

Great Album, its still in my rotation of cds in my car. Tremonti and Phillips really bring it here. The cd kicks ass !!!!!

Saw Alter Bridge twice on tour 1 st time was 2nd show they did in the states in 2004 Orlando House of blues, they were incredible. Saw them last year with Shinedown (kicks major ass) and 3 Doors Down . and Myles keneddy was not really that good. The vocals on the album are outstanding. Check out a couple of clips on youtube and see what you think. Too me Tremontti and Philipps are worth see them for, I love AB and cant wait for there follow up cd
