I have my tickets as well
They really have to add another show.
At the arrow rock festival this year they played for at least 5000 screaming fans
and now they even bring a real singer.
They should have chosen the HMH Hall which holds 5000
Anyway
Im soooo There..... :)

U heard about Muse.. looks like they are about to sell out 2 consecutive nights at Wembley stadium within 2 days of tix going on sale... thats 140,000...now thats some sales...maybe Journey could use their management.

Journey's management are pussies for not doing Wembley. THAT would be the place for Journey/Def Leppard. Poor planning.....again. 1500 seats? Why even make the trip? There has to be a bigger venue than that in Holland. Great exposure...1500 people.

Deano is pretty much making my point. It's disgraceful to travel THAT far for 1500 seats. Journey has become nothing more than Rick Astley. HE could fill 1500 seats. Still like Azoff, Deano? How do you pass up Wembley in England on the heels of DL/Journey UNLESS your management sucks? It was possible. But wait....that would have cost promotion $$$$$......something Azoff is clearly against. Karaoke tour....AGAIN. Folks, I hate to agree with Monker, but it's OBVIOUSLY Perry or bust (bust being ANOTHER greatest hits tour with JSS). Perry is IN the mix for 2008...probably Journey's "one off." As always, it's all about "Steve." And rightfully so. Fuck, I miss that dude. Simply, the BEST. JSS is simply another way to reep in $$$ off of the "evergreen." If they don't DEMAND a label, they're doomed...plain and simple. Buck up, Azoff. Neal and Jon are ALSO under the miroscope. You fuckers better give us JSS, WITH a label or start kissing Perry's ass. After all, it IS "your" band now. Show us you can be successful without Perry. Something Journey didn't do before or after. Simple math....right NOW, Perry is the commom denominator. He's always laughed when asked about Journey. Shrugged it off. He (in MY opinion) seems to feel that he's not done as far as Journey goes. Journey IS Schon/Perry. Cain was marginally involved. Keyboards are like handjobs...they're a bonus. And Jon was great at adding his touch to ALL Journey songs. Schon needs to put his ego aside ( which is ACTUALLY bigger than Perry's) and call him. Perry, you're no saint either. I've NEVER seen a more talented person piss such talent away. What about the fans? Haven't we been "faithfull" enough? I'm fuckin' tired of re-issues. We ALL are. SING FUCKER. WE LOVE/MISS YOU. I THINK I SPEAK FOR EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!! Hope to "hear" from you soon. The "Journey Army."

When I posted regarding Muse's abiltity to sell out Wembley and 140,000 seats it in no way indicated Journey could do the same (I wish), even on a double header with Def Leppard. On recent UK tours Leppard have been struggling to fill the indoor arenas, and I think even with Journey's resurgance over here they are probably only up the the level Leppard have reduced to, ie they would also struggle to sell out a 10000 seat indoor arena. Rock just doesn't have the following it used to (unless your Bon Jovi)

For example, the second night at Manchester Appollo (about 2700 seat) is still only half full, although I expect it will probably sell out by the date. I would put Journey's UK pulling ability at no more than 5000 a show, with maybe 12,000 arenas a possibilty with DL....thats a million miles away from Wembley's 70000 a show. I don't even think Bon jovi could currently match what Muse have just done with Wembley sales.

To put the dichotomy of Europe vs North America into perspective; Who the Hell are the Muse? I am sure they are big over there, but I have never heard of those smelly Euros ( I am sure they don't bathe regularly, use deodorant or brush their teeth).

Anyway, JSS is the actual key here. HE is the only member in Journey who has European drawing power, because he has been over there so damned much. Here, in the States, the Catalogue is the drawing power.

St John. I have come correct on Azoff and will continue to say he can be great with this band now that they have a bonafide singer who actually sings. Jeff can do the talk show circuit; Letterman, Leno, Oprah, Stern, you name it. Augeri couldn't do that because he was such a pussy and couldn't sing his way out of a smoky corner bar. We can't grade Grandpa on his time with Augeri. Auger as quarterback was like a 5'7" noodle armed limp dick without wheels, going down via the phantom sack. JSS is a 6'3" canon armed goliath who will actually take on an linebacker in order to pick up the first down, then point his finger in the guys' grill and run smack. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Sorry St John. Perry is NOT in the mix. My sources have told me it is a no go.

JSS and the talk shows for promotion, etc. are a great idea....IF they have something worthwhile that is NEW to promote. Surely, with JSS's popularity (that some say) in Europe they can sell more seats that that?

Jeff has a huge back catalogue and is rightly very popular with those in the know and familiar with the genre, but I don't know if he's any bigger over here (in Europe ) than in the states to the general music buying public. To put it in perspective, Jeff's solo shows in the UK are usually in halls that take a few hundred, at most. Even the Gods in 2002 was less than a thousand I think, and the main draw at the Gods/Firefest is the combination of 6 or so bands rather than any single performer. I've seen 2 of Jeff's solo shows in the Uk in the last 2 years, he was fantastic at both but one had only about 200 people in attendance and the other less than 50.

I wouldn't rely on Jeff's draw to cause anything more than a minor positive ripple in Journeys popularity in Europe; although I don't think it will do any harm at all, by far the biggest increase in their popularity over here is the mere fact that they now come over and tour.

Deano - I take it Muse haven't cracked the US then, they are a 3 piece Indie band who have been about for a few years over here but have really taken off in the last 2 years. Check out below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNSjt6uqdVY

Its really funny how some bands can be absolutely huge on one continent and unheard of on another. The plus side is we get to see some US bands that are massive on their homeland in really small venues over here (eg, 3 Doors Down a couple of months ago at a venue that holds only 400 people, Dave Mathews at same venue)

Bands who are big in the US normally skip Europe
If they are big in the US and make a lot of $ why go to Europe?
For the fans??? lol
For example Van Halen was the opening act for Bon Jovi in 1995
I mean... come on.....
