30th DVD

Postby knox » Wed Dec 20, 2006 1:09 pm

I haven't had time to read all the interviews (scanned Neal and Jon). Was there any mention of why the DVD was scrapped? I know they didn't mention the taped vocals...

No mention of it. But it won't be released.

Thanks, Drew... We knew it would never see the light of day.

Still reading - I LOVE the excitement coming out of Neal. And to hear that MANAGEMENT is excited, and they are planning videos and T.V. apearances!!!

THIS is JOURNEY!

Pointless to release a non-JSS DVD at this point

Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't have bought it if it HAD come out. I just wondered if anyone would actually OWN up to anything.

And to think, we will never get to see the strippers who displaced front row ticket holders  (Sorry to anyone here who got booted... )

It's pointless to release a lip-synched concert at any point.
They could still salvage the Pre-Perry set if they wanted.

Does anyone have any ideas about what kind of TV appearances? Are we talking about Leno, Letterman, etc. or something else??? I know I might have something like this before, but damn! Neal Schon doing the National Anthem at the SuperBowl would be INCREDIBLE!!!!

I wonder who ended up having to pay for all of it. The production must have cost a fortune.

Shame, I would still like to have lipped or not. Just to have all the songs in one collection, not sung by Perry or Rollie-ERIC

I definitely agree that Schon playing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl would be phenomenal! Definitely be Jimi Hendrix-esque. That said, Neal isn't a big enough name for the Super Bowl. Outside of Journey circles, Neal is a pretty anonymous guy. I don't know that Neal ever really had that kind of recognition, even when Journey was the "flavor of the month". As talented as Neal is, he isn't perceived by anyone as Eddie Van Halen. Super Bowl performances will ALWAYS be reserved for whomever is the "flavor of the month", at that particular moment in time.
