How Much Muscle will Journey Have Behind Their Music?

Postby Greg » Fri Dec 22, 2006 12:30 pm

We all know JSS brings some "muscle" behind the vocals, so I'm wondering how much muscle will the next Journey CD bring to the table? I honestly hope if there are 12 songs on the album, 10 will be hardcore rockers, and 2 ballads!

(Uh, Jeff....really hope you agree!)

I think Jeff will allow Neal to "Rock Out" completely ~ like "Edge of the Blade" to the 100th Degree

I'd certainly love an album full of "Edge of the Blade!"

I'll agree with Greggie' first post. At least 10 rockers and a couple of ballads........

Now we just have to wait until they get down to writing and recording......... :D

OK, OK....

That was meant to come across as Neal has been "stifled"...now he will be ALLOWED to "Rock Out".

(is that better...?)

My question is, however, even if Journey has 80% rockers, 10% ballads....do they still get recognized by the media (MTV, VH1, radio) or will the media still consider them nothing without Perry? They do have the support of their management this time (well supposedly anyways.)

I agree with the 10 and 2. JSS's Lost in Translation is rocker heavy and it's a great cd. Mix Jon's talents in with JSS's and Neal's on songs like Believe in Me and it's gotta be good.

Hopefully whatever record company there on will help them out...
Labels like frontiers & spitfire can only do so much.....
I wonder how many copies they sold of arrival & generations?
Even though i'm a huge Jrny fan i'm realistic........
unless they can get some real airplay on radio & tv they'll probraly sell under 100,000 copies...

So with management being behind Journey 100%, does this mean that Journey may try to sign with another record company? One that is more mainstream in the US?
