Journey used for an example of "talent"

Postby Deb » Fri Dec 29, 2006 5:00 pm

I was watching one of those end-of-the-year specials on Muchmoremusic (Canada's equivalent of VH1).....and one of the shows was called "Overrated in 06" joking about things that were overrated in 2006 like "Lollipops" (really skinny celebrities) and Celebrity porn tapes, and one was LOL "talent" being overrated....they were talking about not having to have talent as long as you look good and showing clips of Jessica Simpson and a few others and while they were talking about "talent" they showed a video clip of Journey (Houston concert) and said "I mean come on, how long has it been since you've seen these guys." :D

Yeah, that, rap and urban yodeling is all it's about these days in pop music. Most of the real talent has gone country.

This is true Sherrie, with possibly the exception of Garth Brooks. I saw him once before he got big in the biz.....he cannot sing. They made that guy on the stage. He probably retired so that he wouldn't be found out. The no talent list is huge right now: Matt Leblanc, Pam Anderson, Larry King.....but these people get richer and richer

Urban yodeling...I get a kick out of that phrase every time I hear it. I believe Neal Boortz coined that one.
