You stupid fools. Not one of you saw them with Perry did you? You have NO idea of which you speak. He was simply the best ever.

I am saddened that you Tards can even type the shit you type, regarding Steve Perry.

I saw Perry with JRNY at least 20 times
The Departure Tour was the absolute best

Dang froy, you saw Perry with Journey that many times, LUCKY YOU!!! Well I didn't get to see them THAT many times, but I did see Perry with Journey, on the Escape Tour, Frontiers Tour and ROR Tour! Spectacular concerts!!! :D

And TBF is an EXCELLENT CD!!

Lori

I saw every tour
Evolution was great also
I just can't understand for the life of me why they do not release any videos
How stupid is that.
If you guys ever saw a full Departure show in DTS surround it would blow everyone away.
Jeff would not stand a chance
Well maybe thats why they do not release any videos
Perry would kill the JRNY train which is derailing anyway.

Froy, I usually disagree with your posts, but however, here I have to step up and tell you. TRIAL BY FIRE is my fav. cd....
Steve Perry sounds great on it although a little different than previous cds... I love almost all of the songs, I few I don"t care for.
On your other point, Journey is not derailling! They have a new life with JSS..His vocals are outstanding and he has much power in his voice and he can create new material for/with the band...Please wait for new cd before making a decision...we are all waiting to hear what they come up with now......

With Neal's guitar how can it be bad?????????

Thanks for agreeing with me on TBF
When you say Soto gives them a new life
I say why didnt they pick him over Augeri?
If he is the end all then why was he passed over before
There is no way JRNY rises to the top again just because of Jeff Soto
He's a singer so what
The chemistry of Schon Cain and Perry is what made JRNY famous,
The chemistry of Soto cain and Schon may produce good music but nobody will ever hear it.
The radio will not even touch it just like they did not touch Augeri and Arrival had radio friendly material
With Your Love and Lifetime of Dreams could have easily made it on the radio and it never came close.
Why now would you think Jeff Soto will change that?
I have never heard any of his past material on the radio why would that change now.
My Opinion is JRNY should shut down and try to talk Perry into 1 more cd and tour
They should all get in a van Smith Rollie Cain Valory and Neal and drive to Perry's house over there on DonnaJean lane and ring his bell and call him out and sing For He's a Jolly good fellow.
Thats a joke but the bottom line is someone should get in touch with him anyway shape or form
You think Perry played Neals music in the bcakground on Bensons radio show for a reason ?
I do ,

Lucky you.....I only saw them once, on the Escape tour May/82.......and would have loved to have seen them on the ROR tour, especially the Mtn Aire show. :( Although the Departure boots look like a great tour too.....Perry interacts with the audience quite a bit in the Maryland one. I have to laugh, during Walks like a Lady, Perry is singing to someone in the front row and the camara pans down to a girl sitting on her boyfriend's (I assume) lap.....just a bumpin and grindin to the music, her bf has her by the hips and has a big sh*t eating grin on his face......and she is staring up at Perry all googly eyed....it's hilarious.

Froy, if Perry would sing and tour with them, I would pay $1000.00 a ticket to see and hear that...do we really know why they don't speak? conjecture would be that they didn't wait for him to get better.....

Mgt. may promote them this time---they certainly would have a good chance then, IMO

Jeff Scott Soto has a lot of charisma on stage and the boy CAN sing!

Well, if no one ever hears their new music, well, then the world would have lost out!

Hope I can say I told You So.....lets wait and see...

So would allot of other people me included
Would you pay 1000 to see Soto ?
I would not pay anything.

do we really know why they don't speak?

IMO Neal needs to go to his house and just hang out with him.
Do not even say anything about JRNY
Pull out his guitar and play Patiently and see what Perry does
Baby steps just like in Dr Marvins book.

That is so far in the past Steve Perry get over it man.
Live for now and forget about yesterdays hurt,
TURN IT OVER>

STYX with DeYoung and JRNY with Perry would gross 100 million
A great double bill.

Neal didn't know of Soto until 2002 or so.

Of course not. It's 2007. Do you still wear acid washed jeans?

froy wrote:He's a singer so what

So was Perry. So what. A great one. But so what?

Then maybe Journey should hire Britney or Justin Timerlake? If you put so much importance on radio popularity. FTLOSM had no radio hits either, which you conveniently neglect to mention.

Who says they are going to change the landscape of radio? Radio sucks and I think you know it.

I don't get you. You blast Styx for playing for money instead of love of the music, yet you want Journey to reunite with Perry for one last cash grab? WFT? Soto is an awesome talent with energy and passion for the music. Open your ears and mind, joint us in the 21st century, and enjoy the ride.

you may have saw what Perry did, so that is the problem. You didn't hear what Perry did, and that was an ok cd. But I will agree is is the best ever, he is THE VOICE OF ROCK-ERIC :D

One last cash grab ?
When did I say that?
They get together to close the book
Steve Smith and Rollie and Perry join the current band
Dean and Soto watch from the sidelines.

Soto is an awesome talent with energy and passion for the music.

Really then he should have no problem becoming a star on his own.

Nope, never saw him live in or out of Journey though I'm sure AR and Niggy have.
But b/c I made the Trial By Fire joke is not a slur on Perry's work.
It's why I love play regularly all of Captured, GHL and the Houston DVD and cd...
And I know you will talk of the intangibles of actually being there (You for one I know dig a good loud racaus crowd who sings along) but I like the live cds and the dvd as far as actually appreciating every nuance of the live performance.
Love being there, but at the same time, it's all a blur and there are distractions no time to actually LISTEN and reflect on the shit your taking in.
That frickin Houston dvd is Perry's production MASTERpiece.

Anywho....

Yup. :)

They don't need to talk about the past or the future. They just need to reconnect to the magic that connected them in the first place.

Steve might have been saying in his Q&A that he misses Neal. Not necessarily Journey and all the related hassles, just Neal. I'd like to think so anyway.
