I love this song,it has grown on me,plus I really love the video...These kind of on-the-road stories are awesome! Reminds me of "Faithfully"... 8)

That is really good.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I love this song too, but it really makes me cry and hits home waay too closely! In the last recent months, my ex-fiancee' and I had been trying to date and rekindle what we used to have, but when you know it's all coming to an end for one reason or another, it's very tough to take! "If this is the end, then why don't I want to go...." I have been echoing those same exact words!

If This Is The End might be my favorite off the Lost In Translation album. Great song. Those people who said JSS isn't a ballad singer should listen to this one for sure.

I fully agree that JSS is indeed a ballad singer and I love his ballads/slower songs from his solo work, with Talisman, and with various other projects he has been associated with. I will say that his ballads are not in the same musical style as some Journey fans may want or even demand.By that remark I mean his ballads are not Open Arms/Faithfully clones but tend to be more acoustic and personal in nature.I personally hope that this style is adopted into the new music and can't wait to hear a new release in 08 !!

Beautiful song, loved it the very first time I heard it.

Just shows how many different styles of music Jeff can sing.

Great song. I'm still partial to "Sacred Eyes" though :)

aw, tree, you really know how to GetAGirlGoing.

I told Gary and Howie at Loffler's that the acoustic set from Live at the Gods 2002 DVD is the best acoustic concert video on the planet ( besides Neal and Liberty of course). I watched it yesterday---3 or 4 times! ( i always replay my favorite parts-does anyone else do that?)

note to self--Jeff had just finish the first set of that show which included Warrior, Color My XTC , Break Your Chains and many other screamers. just listen to the control. Jeff is an incredibily gifted vocalist. AFTER the acoustic set, he blasts through his Yngwie stuff. wow.

My favorite ballad is 4U  followed very closely by By Your Side, with Howie on an acoustic guitar and Sacred Eyes with Gary on acoustic. I guess I'm all about acoustic, huh?

Journey acoustic would so rock.

topic: I can understand the sentiment behind If This is the End. I have been married 31 years, yes to the same guy, and sometimes it is just as the song says. Sometimes ya just wonder why ya put up with the stuff (and why he puts up with mine). I enjoy that song for that reason - and Jeff's beautiful ballad voice naturally. :D
