OT - PETER FORSBERG

Postby Behshad » Wed Jan 31, 2007 12:56 am

Rumor has it that Peter Forsberg is leaving the Flyers. I for one think he is one of the best players ever. There's 3 teams wanting him back: His old team the Av's, New York Rangers and Detroit Redwings.
Where would you like to see him!?

I for one think that if he joins the Wings, they will win the Cup easily.....
(I'd rather see him back with the Av's though)

He will go somewhere, the feet will be fine and he'll be a 100 point guy again.

And the Flyers will get "quantity" in return.

Ask Moose, he's cursed by these franchises, too.

Well, I'd like to see him on the Blues, but since they will probably never have a good player again... :(

Holmgren and Forsberg met yesterday to discuss his future, but nothing seems to have been resolved. Right now, Pete is worried about his health, and rightly so. A guy with as much competitiveness as he has must be going nuts right now. Not sure they would get anything of value unless he gets that damn skate issue figured out.

Personally, and I know this would NEVER happen,
I would LOVE to see my Penguins land Forsberg!
They could give up Ryan Malone, a young defenseman and
a draft pick. The Pens are already making a surprising playoff push
right now and they do have the BEST young crop of talent
ANYWHERE in professional sports. That's what happens
when you've sucked for so long!

I think ESPN's John Buccigross summed it up best
in a recent column discussing where Forsberg may wind up...
"My god, this would be a beautiful thing for hockey. I'd put Jordan Staal
with Crosby and Mark Recchi, and Forsberg with Evgeni Malkin
and a cardboard cutout of, yes, Kelly Monaco wearing a terrible towel.
Talent plus experience plus major distraction equals a plus/minus of 467.
This won't happen because Flyers fans would burn down the rink
and because I won't give up my cardboard cutout."

Realistically, since I have been a HUGE Jagr fan from his
rookie season with the Pens, if the Rangers picked him up
I would be equally satisfied. Could you imagine how scary
it would be for teams to face a line of Straka-Forsberg-Jagr
and THEN have to deal with a second line of Prucha-Nylander-Shanahan???
It'd be insane!

Personally, I would only make a deal with Pittsburgh if they gave us Ryan Malone AND Ryan Whitney. Draft picks in the NHL are too much of a craps shoot. Never happen though. Pittsburgh has a bright future, so they don’t need to rent Forsberg for a year…they won’t win the Cup anyway. So why bother?

No, they probably woudn't win the Cup
but they probably would make it deeper
into the playoffs and, finacially, that would be
a HUGE bonus for this team. Not to mention that,
with the current "where are they gonna be next year?" scenario,
it would help get big boost of support from the fans.

But I know it isn't gonna happen. And there is no way
the Pens would fess up Whitney.

I dont play it online much either,, its fun to play it online when you know who youre playin against,,,
I love the XBOX360 version of EA's NHL.... you use the left analog stick to control the player and you use the right one to control the stick,, so smooth and so realistic! I bought a PS3 a month ago but havent played much on it .... So if I were you I'd either get a 360 or just wait for the PS3 a bit longer

If Sid "The Kid" doesn't win the Hart Trophy this
year then he will have been robbed and raped!
The kid's 19, he is on pace to win the Art Ross
AND put the Penguins in the Playoffs for the first time
in, what, 4-5 years???

And they FINALLY beat Florida!!!
Before tonight I think they lost 15
of the last 16 games against them???
FINALLY :)
