Better that than having soaked your finger tips in lighter
fluid then decide to light a smoke on the stove, eh?

 Welcome aboard!

Some guy at work did something similar. We have these biometric time clocks where you have to type in your employee number and then place your hand on a flat surface which is scanned. The folks at work were complaining about it passing germs, so they put this liquid gelatinous hand sanitizer by each time clock. The major component of that stuff is alcohol. Well a guy clocked in, sanitized his hands with that stuff and then lit a cigarette. That stuff went up like it was gasoline. He had first and second degree burns on both hands. The pictures were grotesque looking.

Wow, now this I will have to remmber when lighting up after I
leave the hospital or nursing home.
Never done it but who's to say I wouldn't be as duh-like, we've all
seen my stupidness before.
hey, mrs. beam, what do you do?

There were a couple of rough spots, but overall, very good. Neal was flying on the guitar. Chompin that friggin gum though.

Agreed. A spot here and there are rough, but not everyone can be Steve Perry. Not even S.P. Good performance overall. Great licks out of Neal.

Not real fond of the "Send Her My Love" clip, but SW was pretty good. I did not give the 'new' line up a chance until 2004 and it was Deen that grabbed me. I enjoyed the shows I went to very much and liked Augeri. I'm glad changes have been made though and in my opinion for the better. Now JSS singing "Send Her My Love" works for me in a big way, as does"Opened the Door" along with many others.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.

Augeri sounded solid to me, pretty damn good I'd say. What you didn't see is the tempo running 200 mph, high notes cut very short or "the crowd" singing on high notes to cover his ass. I'd say that performance was pretty good from Steve. I seen those guys 3 times in 98 and each time they kicked ass. Not one time did I leave the show pissed because they sucked.

Well, I wouldn't call it "struggling"...he DOES get thru the song....

But, to my ears, his voice has WAY too much "high end"...hardly any "mid"s, and NO "lows"...

Steve Perry was crazy like a Fox....those songs are HARD on a Male Vocalist, and he made them look like a walk in the park...

Another point: sorry, but I have the "Perry pronounciation" in my head:

"I didn't wanna say good - baaa-aaahhhh..."

Steve A's version:

"I didn't wanna say good - byyyyy-eeeeee..."

As a Singer, you NEVER pronounce a long "e" or hard "r"...it's always "ah"

Michael Stanley always used the long "e" and very effectively. It was his style. I never cared for it but within the context of his songs it worked.

I actually put this clip on "Youtube" ..Neil Tudor... but you can call me "McNeil" lol

I have the whole gig on DVD..Augeri is great here...its early days...and hes hardly putting a foot wrong, and certainly not miming at all!

Goes to show you , though, that when you have been kicked down...all your previous efforts get trashed... and goes to prove that people only hear what they want to hear!!

Neil

ps... here's "Seperate Ways" I put up from the same gig!

Indeedio.
Popular rhetoric now, in light of 'Gate, has Augeri caterwalling like a wounded lemur from the day he joined the band right up he straightened it out by going to taped assistance.
In reality he was pretty fuckin good for a long time.

He was good? When? Maybe he was "good" at covering the catalog for a bit, but that's it. Failed album after failed album (except Arrival....a VERY MINOR success), stagnation in the creative process, and ultimately the decision to mime rather than show an ounce of class/dignity and step down, SHOULD wipe out anything you did prior. Everything he built over 5 years he sold out for $$$$$$$$$. Unless someone can convince me that he or his family were threatened, I will always maintain that he should be blackballed from music and its encompassing circles. Considering he has minimal talent as a singer and virtually no artistic ability, that IS likely to occur. Outside of music, I wish him and his family nothing but health and success.

I fuckin SAID, San Juan (You're a pain in my ass, but I like you alot) that he was not probably the singing technician that the Gospel enjoying Gravvy Lover was. That doesn't mean that from a personal perspective I'm not allowed to prefer his voice on a Journey album over his predecessor. Pinning the album "failures (thought still both Arrival and Generations chearted on Billboard despite the fact that concert version of Gens prolly kept many from buying it retail and RIAA refusing to allow Jrny to do what Prince did and cound records bought with tickets towards certification)" SOLELY on Perry W/A Perm is a false strawman argument, b/c by the time they got Arrival out, stealing of music had became a MAJOR problem to be dealt with for artists and albums just did not fly off shelves the way they did in 1996.
Look, man. You don't like Augeri. We GET it. You didn't show up here until TapeGate broke and ESC4P3ToTape was online.
But I refuse to adhere to the credo that 'Gate should wipe out ANYTHING he ever did.

NIG,

I agree with your note. Augeri indeed was the scape goat for the band's sins. Every fucking member of that band new what was going on. And to top it off, now we have interviews of band members denying the issue even happened. I interpret that as the band calling us all a bunch of dumb asses. Everyone wants to bash Augeri but they really should be bashing everyone in the band. They all knew what the hell was going on and let it happen.

L8r,

Aaron
