OT (sort of) - CTA

Postby Art Vandelay » Thu Jun 07, 2007 1:35 am

My cousin, who is in the music business and has legit contacts, told me about the new CTA project about a year ago. He had heard that Danny Seraphine was also brushing up on his chops with Steve Smith, as well as with Joe Porcaro. I believe that Smith also once mentined Seraphine as one of his influences.

It's the lead story on today's MR home page. Sorry - forgot to point that out.

California Transit Authority = former mebers of Chigao (originally CTA "Chicago Transit Authority") plus former members of Tower of Power and others.

Danny S (drummer) was the founder of Chicago - he was also fired back around 1990.

He stayed at home for 17 years collecting royalties, not recording or doing anything - then finally realized he still had stuff to offer and put together the CTA to do a charity gig

The crowd went crazy - the band decided to the studio thing

New music being released.

Guess it sorta sounds like another band we all know and love (usually)

[edit - oh yeah - it's on the MAR homepage]
