That's where I stand right now. Does anyone else feel that way?

Perry, JSS, Deen or a healthy Augeri would keep my support. NO MORE CHANGE!

I'm with you. He is the only choice at this point for me. I say that because Perry and Augeri are not possibly gonna happen IMO. It's over. Done. Finished. They just showed me they don't have the talent to keep going. Jeff had them alive again. They are now dead.

The only reason I was supporting Journey since Perry left was because of JSS. I have all the greatest hits already so I won't need to be purchasing any more music from them.

Doesn't the name Journey still indicate change????? To venture forward? What happened to that?

The county fairs won't book them now.

It'll be flea markets next. Idiots.

Sadly I believe that this news means Journey is done. If this was what they were going to do with it in the years since 1998, it should probably have been given a decent burial then. Steve Perry's words about "don't crack the stone" are seeming uncannily prescient right now.

If Soto blew out his voice with Talisman I would still be towing that company line. But this is just ridiculous. If its a tribute singer, we've all been had!

Ironic that I had no interest in Journey after Perry left, until they hired Soto. At least he could sing, had strength in his vocals and some soul. Blew the Wiggler out of the water. The best move they could have made, if they weren't gonna retire the name, was hire Soto. Friga must like making those phone calls. I wonder if it was on the phone or if he had the balls to do it in person?

After I saw JSS with SS I had some hope. Now all we got is just another 80s band with no balls.

I'm out. Jeez, younger bands on meth, in & out of rehab...they have it more together than Journey.
Weirdness.

You are kidding right? That is a ridiculous statement. Only the hard core fans even know who JSS is or that he was even in the band. Causal fans think Perry is still singing. Come on now. I don't agree with JSS being in and out that quickly but no Jeff, no Journey .. I don't think so. I understand why you feel that way but Journey will carry on.

A band with the name Journey will carry on as long as morons who don't know any better keep buying tickets thinking Perry is still singing. I'm not a moron, are you?

Funny how all these people told SA fans that they should get lost because they weren't true 'Journey' fans. The tables sure have turned.

Journey dropped a MAJOR opportunity.

What the fuck are they thinking?!

I reckon Porcupine Tree, Rush, and Dream Theater just jumped a spot apiece on my favorite band rankings.

You know what? You've got to let people vent for a freakin' day without riding them into the ground. Everyone is just expressing their shock and anger. Give your bullshit a rest.

I'll certainly agree with this post.

"not without Perry"
"not without Augeri"
and now... "not without Soto"
The current hundred fans online won't make a difference in Journey. Journey will live on, one way or another.
Next year there'll be a new hundred Journey fans saying "not without <the next singer>", and everyone will be bitc#ing at each other because they're not true Journey fans.
The band doesn't care and the general buying public will never know anything because it just doesn't matter.
Save your tears for something really important in your life.

later~
