You talkin to me???

If so, quit while you're ahead.
You're a dipshit.
I know it.
You know it.

People, please stop with the hurtful advice though, the next lead singer could be reading this and I really do feel for him/her.

That's the whole point, Moron!!!
He DOES read here!
And he needs to know that his friends and fans
here Do NOT WANT HIM TO DO THIS!!!

He is TOO GOOD for those cock-smokers!!!

Exactly. He deserves the opportunity, but they don't deserve him at all.

Just curious, on what grounds are you proposing Jeff might have to sue Journey?

I attended a concert this year and I witnessed people's reactions when Deen sang; people reacted tremedously because, after all, it is what people except and want to hear; Journey! That unique sound. Supply the demand.

Journey is after all, about a sound as a group, which they have proven in the past "without" Steve Perry.

Don't get me wrong . . . I love to hear the crooning sound of Deen with the radio hits. JSS has an energy and stage presence that brings the Perry sounds forward not stuck back in the hair days. Change is necessary but the manner in which the change occurs can be controlled with more class than this. Don't think you need to be a fly on the wall to see the big picture.

I went to their dual concert initially for DL, mesmerized by JSS, re-ignited the passion for Journey, will follow JSS. He's a class act and did not deserve this! The man can sing in a variety of genres! He's the total package and I feel like Journey is just what it was for me when I was in the roller rink and wondering when the black lights would come on.

Yep and getting somebody that sounds just like Perry worked for them last time too huh? I guess time will tell, won't it. For me I couldn't give a rats ass what Journey does point forward. Although I am grateful to Journey for exposing me to JSS's talent and catalogue. 100% behind Jeff in whatever he decides to pursue next!

My message to you, if you do lurk here, is this:

Tell Jon and Neal to shove their offer straight up their
fucking asses sideways and twice on Sundays!

I'm sure you know the history here... Do you really want
to get involved with a band like this???
20 years ago, even 10 years ago, this would've been a Dream-gig for you.
But now, after this past year of craziness, how can you even
consider joining this circus knowing full-well that all you will ever be
to Jon and Neal is a hired hand and nothing more.

You would be fronting the Ultimate Journey Tribute Band
but what would you gain??? If you can sing like Perry,
and I bet you can, you're better off sticking with your own
thing where you still have some control over your life.

It ain't worth it, whoever you may be...
Don't sell your soul now.
These guys have shit on their fans for the last time!
You're a fan yourself, probably...
Don't fall prey to Friga and Neal's line of BullShit!!!
It just ain't worth it...

It seems to me that thi was the EXACT advice BTer's gave JSS.

My advice would be -

DO NOT DRINK FROM THIS POISONED CHALICE WHICH IS BEING OFFERED.

However, I understand what an opportunity this is for you, and you have a fine voice, so I can see that you will take it.

Therefore......my other advice would be -

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ANTIDOTE TO THE POISON. [THE LEGAL KIND, WITH NO LOOPHOLES.]

And the very best of luck with it. :)

I would also suggest an additional antidote to any of life's poisons, which is a strong, loving family and support group of friends, with the knowledge that God has an open door policy and sometimes it's cool to sit down for a chat and get perspective on all of the things we have to be grateful for.

Add a good lawyer to that, mate, and I'm with you. [remember, Jeff has a strong, loving family and support group of friends etc.]
Just watch your back.
But, as I said, best of luck - what ever happens. :)

Nice to see you know where your center is. Some people might say you're being holier than thou but I don't see it that way.

Ironically, the advice offered was the SAME advice that BTer's offered JSS!

Your comments rings SO TRUE...
And I highlighted the one point because
THAT was the meaning behind this thread that
I started. It was in NO WAY a means to show disrespect
or to diminish the talents of the 'supposed' future singer for Journey.

It was a straight-from-the-heart show of support.
It was me letting this person know that they are
better than this and deserve greater things than to
wind up a another victim in the train-wreck that this
band has become.

Like I said before, 10-20 years ago, this would
certainly have been a dream-gig to land. But after
what has gone down over the past year or so and the
direction, or lack there of, that this band seems to be willing to take,
it just doesn't seem worth it, to me, to see someone as genuine
and passionate about their career to be a part of this kind
of organization.

The best part of this scenario is that myself and others
can choose what and who we support...
Knowing what I know of the 'supposed' new guy,
I will ALWAYS support him and wish him well...
But I can't support or respect his bandmates any longer.
Been burned too many times...

I suppose I'll say it as many times as necessary. How many times are you not going get it? The point is: this is nothing new!

I would think after the SA/JSS thing that THIS board would take it in stride. Instead it's nothing but whining.

Sure. The circumstances were different with SA/JSS. Tapegate justified things in the minds of MR.comer's but NOT for BTer's. It hit them HARD. In their mind there was NO justification for letting SA go just like no one here sees any justification for letting JSS go.

Ultimately, I suspect that JSS was temporary from the begininning. When it comes right down to it - LIFE is temporary. Things change from day to day and whether or not it's clear things unfold accordingly.

The question is: what's the justification?

Has ANYBODY asked that or posted it? Everything I post gets locked so I'm not going to bother starting a thread on that topic.

No one knows why, not even Jeff as of yesterday!
THAT's why this stings so much...
With Perry and Augeri, there were signs and declining years...
This is just too premature...

And maybe your posts et locked because you keep
bringing up this BT/Augeri shit.
Why do you think BT shut down???
They were SMART! They KNOW there would be
an all-out-War of "We Told You" so's and
"How Does It Feel?" commens and arguements...
Just like all these Newbs (rejects from BT while its on hiatus)
are trying to do here

I'm not so dumb not to know why my posts get locked. I'll respectfully leave it at that.

I agree with your other comments. BT was absolutely smart to close up shop.

That's right. Music IS a business. I don't like this any more than I liked the whole SA debacle but you've got to breathe the smog to smell the flower.

This is making my allergies EXPLODE.
