Larry- I love Muttley ! Where is Dick Dastardly? We used to never miss that on Sunday morns in the late 60's. Now areana's to me hold 20-30,000. Stadiums 80,000 +. Some tour Journey sold out 5 nights in a row in a Ca stadium. I think it was LA. Other cities I read more than one night and sometimes 3 in arenas.

What goes around.............

It stings, doesn't it? I really hurts and makes you feel really angry. To lose something you really enjoyed, something you loved and admired. Something you looked forward to, after a long hard day at work, something that made you forget the wicked world for just a little while.

It hurts. I know how badly it does hurt, because I felt the way you all do right now. About a year and a half ago, when the band I loved because of the lead singer, started to fall apart.

The truth is, I am not a real Journey fan. I am a Steve Augeri fan, and I am as proud of that today as I ever was. I don't have to apologize to anyone for admiring the contributions Steve Augeri made to Journey. He brought me to the band. They made plenty of money off me, because of Steve Augeri. I bought all their cds, new and old (old just to hear Perry sing) and I purchased prime, high-priced tickets to concerts for 8 years running. I loved Steve Augeri in Journey, and so I came to love Journey. I won't rehash what he did or didn't do, or what he should have done. I won't comment on the treatment he received from his bandmates, his "brothers" or from the fans, many of them quite vocal from this forum. He was replaced, and it broke my heart along with the hearts of thousands of other Steve Augeri fans. I won't even rehash the treatment we got just for saying we were Steve Augeri fans. It is all in the past, over and done with. But...it still hurts.

I admire and respect JSS and I was just about to the point where I may have considered going to see him perform in Journey. I know he is an amazing performer. I have ears, and eyes. I could see how much he gave to the shows he did as a "stand-in lead singer." I knew from the start, as you all did, that he was the new lead singer of Journey from the first show he did. That hurt, too. To realize that your favorite lead singer wasn't ever coming back. Now you all can identify with me. You all know how that feels. It sucks.

It is a sad thing that has happened to JSS. To be fired just like that, for no apparent reason. Or is it that the reason is just not apparent to us? In the real world, no one gets fired for no reason. There is always a cause and effect. Something happened. We don't even really know the truth about what happened with SA. We may never know the truth about JSS either. I feel bad for JSS. He gave his all, and he was amazing at what he did. Maybe he didn't deserve to be fired, maybe he did. Maybe he just wasn't right for Journey, or maybe he was too good. Point is, we may never know for sure.

The only sure thing to know is that it seems to give new meaning to the phrase, "what goes around, comes around." In many aspects, this is true in this situation. JSS left his band to join Journey. His band floundered, and now JSS has no band himself. The Journey fans blasted Steve Augeri for his "sins" and sang the praises of Neal and Jon for hiring JSS. Now, Neal and Jon need bodyguards to protect them from the rabid fans, the same ones who once thought they walked on water. The man who hated SA and promised his demise, now hates Journey. The man who wrote a featured article about the energy and new life of Journey with JSS, now finds himself writing about the departure (no pun...) of his good friend from the band. If JSS was the future of Journey, as everyone believed, then what is the future of Journey now? Only time will tell. Time, and maybe karma.
