I adore Perry for his talent but I've always found his fashion sense, if it can be called sense  , to be questionable. That said, why the hell is Jon wearing a Peter Pan costume?

Peter Pan.

It never fails to amaze me how good SP sounded live. Just wish I could have witnessed that myself back then.

There was no other band that sounded that good live. They could get so close to the original that it was hard to tell which was which.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Agreed...Perry was more consistent as a live singer than any that I've heard. I can put up with rock singer being pitchy at times because I'm sure it's pretty hard to hear when you're on stage with all that noise but he was pretty spot on, for the most part. Of course, Schon and the other guys in the band weren't bad, either.

You're right about that, they were great at harmony. Just not good by themselves. Perry is as close to pitch perfect as you can get I think.

What you said-They were the best live band and I loved how they would change up some of the songs when live. The entire '83 concert that this was from is perfect. I think we all know why -nothing will ever be the same again.

It's the same 1983 show. Both Steve and Neal were wearing jackets at the beginning of the concert,Steve's was light blue,Neal's was dark blue.
Then they got the jackets off.

Peter Pan couldn't remove his outfit, tho.( Sherrie)

I know what you mean sherrie - as much as I admire Perry and his talents, he does sometimes appear to have
a bit of a geek streak!!!!

As for Jon, that looks like one of Ross's old jumpsuits!!

Really? I prefer Perry live almost all the time. Perhaps I'm in the minority here but I actually thought he sounded better live (99%) of the time.

He was a freak live. Such a great showman.

That's so true.I'm amazed everytime I watch clips like those, although I have seen them so many times...
However I believe he was more of a freak in the studio. He just knew that it was the recordings that will mean more after Journey will be gone.

Oh well,I guess he didn't dream about something like YouTube...lol
