Blake definitely took risks. Some of them didn't work well BUT I respected the effort. Yeah - his Bon Jovi song was super cool! It really went through the roof.
Jeff's SHML is on iTunes for $0.99! Very affordable.
I loved EVERYTHING Blake did. Heck I even liked his hip hop shit in the finale w/whatever that guy's name is & I HATE hip hop. Have u heard any of Blake's original music from before AI? Really really good stuff there. Looking forward to his album.
Thanks for sending me JSS' SHML. He did EXACTLY what we're talking about. Does ANYBODY else know what we're talking about or are we all a bunch of goofy teenagers on Dick Clark's American Bandstand saying, "It's got a good beat."...?
JSS' version is OUTSTANDING. His voice doesn't soar but the way he arranged it doesn't call for high altitudes. He makes it fit HIS voice. Of course that's exactly what SP did, too!!!
I would listen to JSS' version over everything else. In fact, it's the first JOURNEY cover that I've heard that does what JC says he wants to do: respect the legacy.
JC are you reading ANY of this?
Kevin Chalfant? Hugo? Jeremey? Maybe I haven't heard everything but I've never heard anything from any of these guys that wasn't anything more than karaoke.
