Love this rocking song--sorry, peeps, but Neal is just superb:

Steve is pretty "energetic" here, too.

Damn!!! Thanks for posting that link!

I don't think I've ever seen Steve Perry that animated before! LOL! He does his "wild eyed" look a few times, but boy he's nice to look at.

And yep, Neal is great. Talent has never been Neal's problem. The man is my favorite guitarist of all time.

And that VOICE! Dang, I wish I had seen him in concert when he could do that live!

(Steve was running around so fast I thought the tape was speeded up....   )

No larry, I wouldn't take Departure over Escape, ROR, or Frontiers, but I STILL enjoy the music of the time period that Rolie & Perry performed together. I consider the "Best times" of Journey to be the Perry Era.

I saw this on television live - This is from the Tom Snyder Show.

TS was a pretty cool dude ..... he always cutting edge topics, intelligent conversation and good music.

I miss that.

Perry was always animated in those days - he covered the entire stage ....... look at the Houston DVD ... he sang DSB while running on a track around the stage ....... and maintained breath control.

We're aware. ;)
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

This was from the Fridays (the ABC version of SNL).
They did DSB and Who's Crying Now on Tom Snyders show.

I remember Fridays. Kramer (the actor) got his start on that show, right?

Yeah, Kramer was on there! That was also the show where Andy Kauffmann was hosting and broke character mid-sketch and pissed off the rest of the cast on live television. Turned out it was all another Kauffmann prank. I miss that sick bastard.

Yeah, he was one weird dude. Jim Carrey did a hell of job playing him in that movie, Man on the Moon.

Carey did a fantastic job playing Kauffmann, although I think the movie itself sucked. There was nothing done in that movie that a Kauffmann fan (like myself) didn't already know. Plus, it was a bad move having Danny DeVito, who already played a signifcant part in Kauffmann's life (Taxi) to play his manager instead of himself. If you're interested in finding out what AK was REALLY like, read 'Andy Kauffman Revealed' by Bob Zmuda (his comic partner/co-writer).

It's a great read. You have no idea how whacked out he really was. I still question if he really is dead. If anyone could pull off faking his own death, it was him.

I might have enjoyed the movie more if I didn't already read the book. The movie just seemed to re-enact everything that was already seen on the tribute/retrospective shows that were on Comedy Central years back.
