It was the beginning of the end. Unrecognizable as Journey when compared to past Journey albums. Pure pop, not rock.

Be Good To Yourself rocks - but i agree it is a poppy album and could have been made even better with more Neal and a ballsier production. Hell, even Neal said the songs were good but the bollocks were yanked from it - i remember his quote was "welcome to midi-world". Nevertheless, some of the songs are fantastic - like Positive Touch and of course The Girl Can't Help It...............I think the tension in the band actually helped the creative process tho as Neal was forced to find clever ways to get his guitar in there- and the solo on Suzanne is fantastic - even tho it is simple.....
