OT- First recording with my band

Postby Chevypv » Tue Aug 28, 2007 11:30 pm

Hey, I just finished up recording for the first time. I play Lead Guitar in a Christian hard rock/metal band in G.R. Michigan called Trial With Fire. www.myspace.com/trialwithfire I just thought i'd get a few opinions from the Journey Community. ( whats left of it)

Don't be too scorching with the comments....we did record the entire song in 3.5 hours...with 1.5 for mixing...

(im still not happy with the mix....but time is money...)

for all you guitarists out there my rig is:

Custom hardtail strat
Peavey Valveking
Marshall avt412 cab with Celestions
BBE lead boost
etc...(not used on this song)

P.S. if you don't like it you gotta at least listen to the solo break... which is at 3:56

well dude,, the sound was rough and i dont think you got your singers sound on this one,, the
video represents him much better,,,
the growl is something i just never could relate too... i like
your guitar work ... actually my favorite lick is at 1:58-2:05.... tasty stuff there... fit perfectly....
i sure like your concept man...

my opinion only... the drums are so complicated,, at some point make them straight forward rock,, steady snare.. and raise the bass in the mix..
