DeYoung/Perry rumors

Postby rajah2165 » Thu Aug 30, 2007 7:14 am

Anyone know anything else about the runor that Steve Perry is the duet partner with Dennis DeYoung on the song "100 years from now" on Dennis DeYong's new solo album release? The album and song have been released in Canada (and is #1 in Quebec) and the initial single was a duet between DDY and a French Canadian singer Eric LaPointe. DeYoung has said that for the US release the other singer will be an American singer. There has been some buzzing that it is Steve Perry. Anyone heard anything?

Found this statement on DDY's website:

The release of my new CD in the USA will be in the first quarter of next year. It will contain at least one new track and an all-English version of "100 Years From Now" with another guest vocalist. Sorry for the delay but the success in Canada has caught us by surprise.

I would be really surprised if it was somebody that truly ROCKS. I would put more money on that it'll be somebody like Josh Groban or Michael Bolton. He should hook up with Steven Tyler or Robin Zander.

Cooler yet, DeYoung and JSS.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

JSS and DDY would be even better than Perry and DDY in my eyes. #1 Even MORE recognition to a HIGHLY underrated vocalist and #2...bringing Dennis new Rocker fans. :-)

I said a few years ago on the original Styxnet site that DDY and Perry would be my dream duet. Not so much anymore...but I'd still love to hear it.

Thank fuck for that...I couldn't even start to think about the concept of Perry and DDY together, that would burst the bubble for me, big time

Billy Joel could be a possibility, that would work.

Nope, she would steal too much spotlight from Dennis, but again, isn't he the one with sensitivity to light? 8)
