I think we have evolved from that, since so many women are out in the working world, whether they want to be there or not; many times it's out of necessity.
There are so many opportunities out there for women now, that I don't think your argument is valid.
Children are a gift. There is birth control if you aren't ready to have children, yet choose to be promiscuous. Yet people are too lazy it seems, to practice it.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that life at its most vulnerable has been so devalued down to nothing, that it makes people, and society in general, not even care about anybody's children...their own included.
