OT: Advice: Who do you think are …

Postby frfksakes » Sat Oct 13, 2007 2:03 am

Besides JSS, who do you think are the best rock vocalists out there right now?

I love this performance by Scott Weiland (Velvet Revolver): http://youtube.com/watch?v=pwQg2smopwg& ... ed&search=

Is this an anomaly, or is he pretty good all around?

Anyone else I should check out?

Thanks! Tons of their stuff on youtube that I'm checking out.

______

Not really what I'm looking/hungry for, but this is a great vocal performance: http://youtube.com/watch?v=79DrGah0GuY& ... ed&search=

Reminds me a little of Freddie.
Anyone know this band?

I'm really digging Rob Thomas of MB 20 lately and of course, Jason Wade of Lifehouse has an amazingly powerful live voice too.

Eric Martin. I'm a sucker for a vocalist who sings with passion, makes you feel the song. Don't really care what range. :) Rocker or ballad.

Great clips Deb!!! I have a CD with an acoustic version of "Just Take My Heart" and it is IN-CRED-I-BLE!!!! I don't recall much about Eric Martin or Mr. Big from their heyday, I guess I was too busy starting a family... but after meeting and seeing him in South Bend, I am now definitely a fan of his, and hope to see more from him soon!!! 8)

Debbie, you've got GREAT taste in music sista!!!

I'm impressed! Have any favorites of his that I should check out AR?

I also like what little I've heard so far of Glenn Hughes and DC Cooper. Need more time to explore, lol...

Thanks Donna! I was too busy doing the married/having kids thing back then too.....and maybe a little blinded by Bon Jovi. Now that I'm older (and wiser  ) can definately appreciate some of these amazing voices that came out of the 80s, etc. LOL my 17 year old has already mentioned putting some of the songs from Mr. Big on her IPOD. She's already got Jeff's LITT on there and some Journey songs. :) But I guess it goes around, I've even got a couple of her Pussycat Dolls songs on mine.

Pick up Black Sabbath "The Dio Years" compilation and the Heaven and Hell live DVD from Radio City Music Hall. That's a good start. Rainbow "Rising" and the Dio solo ablums "Holy Diver" and "The Last in Line" are fine choices as well.
