Pruitt said some of the students at the house were members of Delta Delta Delta sorority or Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

I just wanted to post and ask for everyone to keep these students and families in their thoughts and prayers today. An old friend of mine is a Sigma at South Carolina, his name is Josh, we don't keep in touch except through Facebook, so I can't call him up to make sure he is safe. We met at football camp in '03. I am going to be on pins and needles until I hear something, but even at that there are 7 kids leaving behind empty desks this morning.

Thanks.

I was just reading about them. Heartbreaking.

Praying for your friend and the rest of the families.

Thanks, Wendy.

This sitting-and-waiting for news brings back bad feelings. It feels too much like April 16th (VT), waiting to see if everyone I knew was okay, and finding out someone close to me had been taken. Now, in a similar stance, I'm praying that I'm just being overly worrysome. I talked to the Coach I worked those camps for a few minutes ago and he is going to put in a call to him and his parents later this morning to check in.

I cannot even begin to imagine losing someone in that way. The waiting to hear must have been aweful. I pray this outcome for you will be a happy one. Hang in there.

God bless,
Wendy

I can't even imagine the waiting. I get nervous when my sweetie is late getting home from work! I sure hope your friend is ok. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost.

Hey all, Josh is okay. He wasn't at the beach house with his SAE brothers because his fiancee was sick with the flu and they spent the weekend in Sumter. From what I understand though he knew and was good friends with everyone there.

Oh thank God! Thanks for the update. Of course our hearts and prayers continue to go to those that were affected, but it is nice to hear of the good news that Josh wasn't there!! He must however be devastated.
