Everything Ive heard about this tour has actually been quite positive. People are complaining that DLR isn't that good, well I can't recall him singing for shit live anyway back in the 80's, so this new DLR sounds pretty damn good to me! I can't wait to see VH in Montreal this upcoming weekend!

I got to see DLR at a free concert at our state fair last year, and it was a great show. Very interesting... He sounded horrible at first, and was really off key, but we also couldn't hear the vocals very well. Then he started chugging some Jack straight out of the bottle (assuming it wasn't just ice tea in a J.D. bottle), and suddenly... he started kicking A! Kicked A for the rest of the show, and the sound issues were also resolved.

I wasn't sure if maybe his monitors were malfunctioning at first, or the alcohol just really gets him into the groove, or a combination of both. All I know was I was sort of embarrassed for him the first few songs, thinking he flat out could not sing anymore, and then he turned it around and whooped up the rest of the show. I never heard him complain during the first part -- he was just being Dave, and didn't seem too phased at all. A great showman.

I want that classic lineup onstage one more time. DLR sounds mediocre at BEST and yet the crowds have been deafening. Fans are called fans for a reason. Again, I still say Perry does the North American leg of the tour.

Mediocre aptly describes it. Dave was never great vocalist, but got by on stage presence. I will say, however, that the 2004 VH with Sammy was tremendous! While I have a slight Sammy bias, I really looked forward to the Dave show last month. I wasn’t disappointed, but I wasn’t wowed either. Ed and his bullshit has kind of contaminated the whole thing for me.
