Notice in the Augeri clip, Cain and even SA seem to just be going through the motions.

Deen on the other hand is having fun. Not sure about Neal, he seems a little bored with it too.

Compared to the original where Neal was jumpin around almost as much as Perry!

I suspect it was Deen. Deen had to help Jeff on a lot of the high parts.

From my understanding Jeff did not require help on songs in any way. Deen contributed on Dead or Alive, improvising if you will. Jeff could have and would have sang the entire set if required.

I'm fairly sure, but not positive, that he needed help on the high parts. I actually saw Deen come in on high parts at shows, but as Larry said, that could just be him complimenting Jeff.

LOL, I was being nice by saying "my understanding"

Jeff did not need help

They all seemed to liven up when JSS came on board.

Jeremey has the look and the sound that could have brought back the Perry feel to the band... much more than Augeri, JSS, or Arnel could have. Jeremey has the Perry-ish passion and energy... that's a fact. I just don't understand the logic they are using. I could have supported this version of Journey.

Look? He's just an average looking guy to me. He looks a bit like one country singer whose name escapes me. He's in one of the Fruit Of The Loom commercials. Sound? He's too shrill and pushes so hard he almost grunts. Passion and energy? I don't feel it. Sorry.

Hey Laker, I'm curious. What did you think of Augeri and what's your take on Arnel?

Augeri was inconsistent the times I saw him. Not bad some nights on some songs, not great at other times. Weaker voice than Perry's or Soto's.

Arnel is a great singer from what I've seen on youtube. I'm not sure how he'll come across on big stages with better musicians. I'll reserve final opinions until I see him.

Juan with Lights is great. Was he ever considered for the job?

Not that I ever heard or read about. They've probably auditioned countless singers though. BTW, welcome to the board!

Hey Steve, you're welcome. It was fun while it lasted, both Steves!

If this version of the band really goes forward, I hope they cut at least one decent cd.

That's the good thing about Augeri. Even though they didn't make the charts, they did make some good music. I play the Augeri stuff almost as much as the old stuff.

Me too. I've been trying to get ahold of that one for a while. I have a lot of Augeri boots, but nothing really before 2001. This would be a good addition.
