I'll say what I said elsewhere - I am so surprised. I didn't think he'd get indicted. AND... O.J. going to trial again - all in the same week!!!!

It is about fucking time he got snagged. The guy has more juice in him than the minute maid factory for christs sake.
And I hope for the sake of argument that the Las Vegas Jury cleans up an embarrassing mistake that was made by the Los Angeles Jury and throws Simpson away for the rest of his life.

Thousands of grown men running around San Francisco butt-fucking each other and they're gonna fuck with Barry? Something's not right with this picture. Have that same Grand Jury try and figure out why Neal Schon is such a fuckin' asshole and Friga is such a feminine pansy. THAT might be worth the time.

That's a simple one there Dan. Butt fucking is legal and steroid use is not legal.
Fro is an asshole because he thinks he has no people skills.
Frig is a pansy because of - well see my first sentence.

Legalize steroids and illegalize butt-fucking. Be gay...that's fine. Hug, kiss carress...whatever. It's just that a man's penis should not be in another man's ass. God CLEARLY made it an exit not an entrance.

All he had to do was tell the truth and after dealing with some backlash, he would have survived the storm. Instead, he lies to a FEDERAL GRAND JURY and now will have to suffer the consequences. His records may have been officially tainted by coming clean, but it would have been better than spending a few years in a federal pen. Barry is an absolute ass. My brother and I have dealt with him many times through work with MLB and he really is a rotten guy.

Sodomy is not legal.
Last I heard its still a crime
Just not enforced between consenting adults.

Perjury is nothing to play with.
Still I don't know why the courts are spending there time & our taxes
going after performance enhancing drugs...

I would think the baseball commission would be involved.

Viagra for baseball...
Still it would give certain players an unfair edge...

A talking head sort of addressed this... He said that some folks, Bonds and Martha Stewart for an example, don't realize how serious lying to a grand jury can be. Yea, it may not FEEL that bad when you are doing it, but the consequences can be severe.

Steroids gave him some extra strength no doubt, but you don't have to be big to hit a home run. Alot of it is mental, visual, coordination and steroids won't affect that. So you have to recognize some of the man's talents. But cheating is cheating, and if he gets caught lying in court, lock him up.

I do hope that this time, Simpson gets some serious jail time, and both don't get a pass because they are sports celebrities.

Bottom line - DON'T LIE TO THE FEDS. Wasted money? Sure. But they have our tax dollars at their disposal. I don't like it any more than anyone else, the way they waste our money.

But you DON'T LIE IN FEDERAL COURT... This is not your county court house we're talking about.

Idiot!

Oh, and I am glad they nailed the cheating, arrogant moron.

Yeah, too bad Barry doesn't have a law license they can temporarily strip away so he doesn't have to do time. 8)

This is a great article.... http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... type=chart

"Starting in 2000, after Bonds had recovered from a 1999 elbow injury, he put together the greatest five consecutive seasons of any hitter in baseball history. During that stretch, when he was age 35 to 39, Bonds batted .339, hit 258 homers and drove in 544 runs, with an OPS of 1.316. His performance was slightly better than what the study showed was the second-best five-year run of all time: Babe Ruth's first five years with the Yankees. From age 25 to 29, Ruth hit .370 with 235 homeruns, 659 runs batted in, and an OPS of 1.288. No other players in baseball history came close, the study found."

Just not enforced between consenting adults.

True, and I always wondered how huge a blowup would occur if someone was ever arrested under that law. I'm sure it would make national news.

From Wikipedia...

In its widest definition "sodomy" refers to anal penetration, oral sex, masturbation and paraphilia.

If this is the case, just about everyone would be in jail.

Barry "taint" bonds does not belong in the same grouping as Ruth, he never would have done what he did without steroids.just another drug addict with self esteem issues.

yup..... I think the "point" of the article was to illustrate how Bonds alleged steroid use enabled him to post numbers that paralleled the Babe.....

Actually, there was a case here in Texas several years ago that got 2 men convicted of sodomy. They were both consenting adults, but because the sodomy was illegal - they were arrested and went to trial. I think it was overturned on appeal, but don't make me swear to that at this godawful hour.
