Postby johnroxx » Tue Nov 27, 2007 11:04 am

For those that didn't already know...just got this press release from Vince's publicist:

VINCE NEIL TO SING NATIONAL ANTHEM TONIGHT AT ESPN MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL GAME IN PITTSBURGH

Motley Crue front man Vince Neil will be performing the National Anthem tonight when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field for ESPN's Monday Night Football. The game will begin at 8:30pm Eastern/5:30pm Pacific with Vince's performance of the Anthem taking place just prior to kickoff. The Steelers are currently celebrating their 75th Anniversary and lead the AFC North with a 7-3 record overall and a perfect 5-0 record at home. As for Vince, he recently completed a solo tour that will pick up with more dates in the New Year and is currently concentrating on his Tres Rios Tequila line (www.tresriostequila.com), Vince Neil Ink (VNI) Parlour on the Strip in Las Vegas (www.vinceneilink.com), the soon-to-be-opened Dr. Feelgood's Rock Bar and Grill in West Palm Beach, Florida (www.drfeelgoodsbar.com) and his quickly sold-out Motley Cruise (www.motleycruise.com) that will set sail at the end of January.

For additional information, please see the Vince's website at www.vinceneil.net and the Pittsburgh Steelers website at www.steelers.com.

I heard they canceled the National Anthem after the rain delay. I guess this explains why. I had no idea he was to sing it.

Did he get too lit up during the delay to perform?

No not at all! It was just a matter of time after the delay in addressing the conditions on the field. They had laid new sod down and it hadn't taken fully and with the heavy rain it became a mess! By the time they addresed the fiield conditions they were almost a half hour behind in the schedule, and decided to chuck wasting the extra time of the anthiem and just start play. The TV people were getting antsy and were dictating what proceeded by then.....

Yeah, she was definitely live alright. Sounded awful. Dude, I could have done what she did. After cracking numerous times, she finally stopped trying to hit the notes altogether.

That sucks tho doesnt it? She had a great voice & it's not the same after they toured her to death. Some things never change in the music business I guess.
