I'm starting a Neal Schon respect thread next time I get hammered (which can't come soon enough). The guy can only ask Perry back so many times. Perry doeswn't want to/can't do it. Schon is a guitar player and a damn good one. He plays guitar, gets drunk, tours, and bangs young chicks. This man should be idolized.

Finally, someone gets that Neal is a rock star.

Or just a washed up, has been, "Short Man" guitarist.

I don't see Neal Schon as "rock star", but I DO see him as an "extremely talented guitar player" that unfortunately made some bad decisions, starting first with letting go of Perry. I've never been happy about that, but I have NO desire to bash him, it won't change the situation any way.

He may be talented, but the man has no personality.
IF he had personality well, maybe Journey might be more successful these days.

As it was noted in The Eagles interview, they (Eagles) may not love each other, but they have the ability, the maturity and personalities to get along and make a go of something that the average Joe thought was dead. They knew it was time to put away the carving knife and heal any wounds.
Let's see Schon do that.
It will never happen.

Oh, for the love of God...

THEY HAVE ASKED PERRY TO COME BACK OVER AND OVER. PERRY DOESN'T WANT TO. YOU ARE BASHING THE WRONG GUY.

Takes 2 to Tango. I bash SP when I am in the mood.
Go have some freakin chocolate.... or better yet, go get yourself a tampon.

He's a ... legend and you know it.

After seeing him with Journey a couple times in '83 and then with Jeff a couple times, seeing him in a little tiny bar with JSS Band and Marco Mendoza was AMAZING!! Just wish he would make a phone call - not bashing mind you!

Sound check...

That was a great time! Can't believe you and Treetop were both there and we didn't meet up? :? Glad we finally met up at JSSB in September though. :D Found these pics in the old Lofflers NAMM thread. LOL, Dean and his bitter beer face. Aww and I think Lula was only a few weeks preggers here. :)

I admit that "Rock Star" tends to imply IMO a larger than life persona. Neal can still be referred to as a Rock God for all I care, but "Star" just doesn't work for me.

:? Let's see. Neal has been around some of the top players in rock music since the age of 16. He has himself been the guitar player for Journey, Bad English, Hardline, Soul Sirkus, and in projects involving Paul Rogers, Sammy Hagar, Jan Hammer, etc.

I think it is pretty safe to state as fact that Neal Schon is a ROCK STAR. You may not "see" him as one, but I think he has more than met any qualifications there might be for the title "Rock Star".

I'm NOT knocking Neal! As I already said, HE is an "extremely talented musician", no doubt about that at all! :)

He wishes. He's not a little badass.
He is an always has been just a tiny little man with a giant ego. Big difference.

Neal is an awesome artist, has made a ton of money, and his music has made me happy for over 25 years.
You've made it clear on all the forums how you feel about him, if I think he's a bad ass=then he is. got it?

LOL! Relax..... I never said he wasn't an artist. In fact I've stated many times that as a musician he rocks.
As a person, maybe not so much, but as an artist, definitely. "Badass" seemed like a funny word to use.
