You know what...

Postby atanarjuat » Thu Dec 06, 2007 2:30 pm

I just finished watching a bunch of Arnel clips and I don't care what anybody thinks. He's got a great voice that I'm sure will only improve over time. Just like some people on this board, I'm a judgemental bastard but I was pretty impressed. I'm still bummed about JSS being fired but I'm going to give Arnel a chance.

Am I imagining things, or do we suddenly have new members popping up all over the place? I've noticed several just today. Welcome, and glad to have ya here! :P

I'm still in wait and see mode, but I will say one thing for Arnel, he isn't trying to sing with a Perry voice. He's just singing with his own voice. That's a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned. There is only one Steve Perry.

I think Jeff did too, a very powerful rocking voice, totally different to SP or SA :)
Even though I have listened to Arnel and I have said he does nothing for me, I do hope he enjoys his new Job. :)

I'm a new face, but only to actually posting. I've been reading the boards a lot this past year, give or take. Just didn't have anything to say until now!

But Steve Augeri was influenced to sing more like Perry than his own natural voice. And JSS certainly brought out his Perry-isms as well. What makes you think Arnel won't?

Yup, most everyone here found this place because of some major Journey event. Some will stick, some will slide off.

I will definitely watch with interest what happens. I just don't see myself supporting them with concerts, etc. Not because of Arnel, but because of the monkeys he's forced to work with. In fact, I'd rather see The Monkees live than Schon and Cain.

Arnel can sing the old stuff note for note. It will be interesting to hear what HE does with NEW material.
