Yikes! What a week.
Despite that, I'm still alive and managed to make it through a day of work...AND post here a few times.
I'm not little msnurse or anything, but stay away from those damned sprays! Instead, use a saline flush. Good ol saltwater three times a day (once you have the infection) will do the trick. I don't normally make my own, as I have the beach right up the road and have no problem finding a wave to knock back some saltwater into the ol schnoz. But, you can take some warmed water (doesn't matter if it is tap or bottled) and about a teaspoon of standard table salt - mix it up, grab a a bulbed syringe, lean your head back and squeeze some into one nostril. Hold your head back until you feel the drain in your throat, lean forward (a towel comes in handy here) for a count of ten and then repeat with the other nostril. Seriously, it works and it doesn't contain all that crap that the sprays have. The trick is, when you first feel the stuffy coming on, grab the saline flush and do a preventative twice a day for two days. It'll keep it from progressing. Can't hurt to give it a try.
Sorry about the rest of the woes. It does seem that once we set plans in motion, other things seem to come along and throw a wrench in the works. Good luck with the vacation.
